Just because you can't use 'created by aliens in a parallel universe' as the back story and make it fit and acceptable doesn't mean you should settle on your first one that you can come up with.

It's not believable, and cheese from Switzerland has less holes in it.

[The smile she gives him is serene.] If you'd like to get technical, uncle Gabriel, I'm not a 'power mad megalomanic'. You need to be delusional about your self-importance for that. I'm not, or I would not have nearly got as close as I did. And that's just because that one mundane was was worried about breaking her precious playground too much, and therefore compromises had to be made. [Unfortunately, in her opinion. And screw her mundane for going along with them.] Nor did I wish to rule.
