very, very new muse
Err, hello. Mundane, is it?
I just want you to know that I'm really very flattered that you chose me to join your exciting band of merry men. And women! It's an honour, really. And I'm honestly so pleased.
Only the problem is, you don't actually understand the first thing about biochemistry. Not that majoring in English Literature is a bad thing! It's actually very charming and worthwhile. But we're from very distinct and differing places and I can only imagine it going terribly and horribly wrong.
There might be fire. We're not really supposed to set anything on fire.

[ Do you have a paper bag she could breathe into? ] Rattling about in someone's brain and being flung into various different and unusual scenarios and being forced to use small words and ... flashcards.

And I will hold on to that thought even as she parades me around these "memes" like a trophy - something. It must get boring.

[ No, Jemma. ] Oh! The Mundane. Yes, well. She has a lot of rather strange ideas and things she likes to do with her muses and I sincerely hope she just ... breezes on past me with that.

[May's typist is a fitness enthusiast, but (months of practice notwithstanding) still can't kick worth a damn. That's like not knowing science stuff, right?]

They do seem to bite off more than they can chew. It would be endearing if it weren't mildly alarming.

How are you, Jemma?

She has the whole team. That must be nice. It's unlikely to get lonely.
I'm [ A pause. ] All right? Being at the whim of a Mundane is a little strange. Do you know she put me in a compromising position with Tony Stark of all people? But I suppose it could be worse. I could be jumping from a plane.

It is, isn't it? Almost like puppetry, without the strings. [ ...wait, what. ] Stark? Really? Him? [ of all people? ] I'm starting to question your lady's taste.
