I just want you to know that I'm really very flattered that you chose me to join your exciting band of merry men. And women! It's an honour, really. And I'm honestly so pleased.

Only the problem is, you don't actually understand the first thing about biochemistry. Not that majoring in English Literature is a bad thing! It's actually very charming and worthwhile. But we're from very distinct and differing places and I can only imagine it going terribly and horribly wrong.

There might be fire. We're not really supposed to set anything on fire.

Usually, they manage to muddle through somehow. Occasionally with the help of the internet. Which, yes, can be an imperfect source, but it's usually better than making things up entirely.

I'm more than a little worried about her using wikipedia for important scientific discoveries is all. [ All those journals she had to read, the nights of frustrated tears and coffee and telling herself she was very much going to die, condescended down into some seriously lacking Google skills. ]

Surely there should be a test first.

It could be nice if it were kept small and the people involved were carefully considered. The bigger it got, though, the more potential for chaos.

Maybe we could have one. [ Bright and enthusiastic and more than a little giddy. ] All of us. That way we wouldn't have to veto anyone and it would be a good way to get over any lingering tension from the other day.
