I am amused that you still think the entire series is one giant ploy on my part to pass the leadership of Equestria to ponies who are, if still princesses, also still mortal. Has it never occurred to you that in a way, I already have? The show is not about me, after all. I am the least interesting pony in Equestria.

Aw come on Princess! Give yourself some credit!

I read that comic issue all about you and the school you run and that was PLENTY interesting. The party looked a little stuffy, but that's nothing some balloons and the right music couldn't fix!

Ah, but was it me who made it interesting, or is the school and those within it the more interesting part? I would argue the latter.

Besides, I was speaking about the show.

Couldn't it be both? I mean it was super good fun seeing all the little backround things in the school, like the little cameos and inside jokes and things! But then I got to see how you handle situations in a princess-like way which is different then Cadance and her princess-like ways and way way way different from Twilight's Princess-like ways.

Oh...well yeah I guess on the show we don't get to see all that much do we?

In fact, I believe very soon the comics and the show will contradict each other as to who the author of the Daring Do novels is. So we must accept them as separate.

And that leaves me the most uninteresting pony in the show, a position I am quite happy to hold.

Twilight also occasionally believes I would banish a pony and then imprison her where she was banished over a misunderstanding. Even as a princess herself, she will always see me as a superior and as the Princess, not a pony.

Well sure!

What wouldn't be interesting about the Mentor student relationship where Twilight has grown up idolizing you even more then the other subjects of your kingdom because of how super amazing you've been in helping her develop as a pony as well as a princess? Not to mention how she may never truly understand who you are no mater how many years she studies under you because of how she already believes you are when there's this entire other side to you that only you and your mun really understand! That's not just interesting that's super dooper interesting! Like a ice cream cake made out of rainbow juice or a doughnut car with a real working engine that runs on maple syrup! But less interesting then the mystery of how you make your hair so totally perfectly sparkly and shimmery.

Ah, but Pinkie Pie -- the series began with the effective ending of that relationship. Though I still remained Twilight's teacher in many ways, the time had come for her to fly on her own and learn not from books or me, but from life itself. What is interesting is not an unchanging fixture of the world, but the growth and development of the ponies who live on that world. You and your friends.

The sun is only interesting when it fails to rise, after all. Or inhabits the sky with the moon at the same time, apparently.

Luna and I have had our adventure. It is no longer our place to put right everything that goes wrong in Equestria. That mantle, we have passed on.

Well, you must admit that Daring Do would probably have much less trouble dealing with her many pitfalls and perils if she were an alicorn with access to hundreds of years of magical study. So it might not be quite so much fun.

I suppose that is always an option. But I think I would be happier living somewhere quiet with my sister.

[Which is something Celestia has literally never done in her entire long lifetime.]
