[ Yes, careless. He's said that to all of them. He wants them to be more disciplined, for their own safety. The fact that it's his own words coming out of Jedikiah's mouth gives him a sudden surge of disgust. ]

[ Even now, with them on opposite sides, Jedikiah can't help but think better of John. He'd done well. He'd survived. ]

[ Not with Ultra nipping at their heels. They do their best with TIM, and that's it. Not that Jed needs to know that - if he doesn't know already.

He's not going to respond to the jab about the club, the party. He shouldn't have been there, it's true. He's so angry at them for going over his objection. At himself, for letting his caution down. ]

[ He has anger, so much anger that it threatens to swallow him. This is another reason he wanted to get away from Jedikiah. Away, and never see him again. ]

[ Jed gives him a long, searching look. He knows that anger, had helped him harness it, and can't say he was wrong to do so. John would need it.
