On reserve at
onepassingnight and mun being really tentative about it all.
"I still need to catch up", huh? Yeah, you're way behind, even with all the spoilers you've been reading. Stop getting distracted by that super-whatever thing! [Supernatural.] Yeah, yeah. Plus, that extension isn't going to last forever, and I can't stay up here forever either.
And yeah, I know. You've been freaking out about having to watch that episode since spoilers first showed up on your dash. Have a little faith, mun, I'll kick his butt all the way to next year and get everyone out! Just get going on the app, okay? I'll take care of Tarrlok.
[You mean bastard scumbag?]
I like the way you think, sometimes.

You're from the Water Tribe, isn't that right? [She recalls meeting Katara in Econtra. Korra dresses similarly.]

There won't be any sniping that as a teenage girl, Korra isn't ready; not from the 'little girl' who'd had to prove herself to the Dark Kingdom.]
no subject
[Good, she's dealt with enough of that already in canon and in the headspace. Avatar Aang was younger than her when he saved the world, she's more than ready already. She just has to master airbending!
...which, due to recent events, are easier said than done.]
no subject
And when you come here? What do you plan to do?
no subject

You're smart after all. Use the resources this place gives you for the sake of your own world and your own self.
no subject
[Spirits know she'll need it.]
no subject
[And sometimes you're left with that hazy feeling the dream was important - if only you could recall it.]
no subject
Better hope I can. [pause] Wait...if this is a dream world, and anyone can see my dreams...
[Oh. Oh.
CRAP.]
Hey, uh, not all your dreams get broadcast for everyone to see, right? [Mun didn't tell her that.]

[Deep sigh. Because man, she's a teenager, embarrassing dreams come with the package. And with the theme this month, she's kind of hoping her first post doesn't come with probending and airbending fail.]
no subject
Maybe we're alike in that.
no subject
...well. You'll see.]
Yeah. We gotta stick together, since we're both good with water.
[Difference is, she can do earth and fire, too.]

[You know that tone most people use when someone tells them something they don't agree on? The one that often flavors "Yeah, right"?
Yeah, it's that tone.]
I mean, hey, sure we don't know each other yet, but since the mun's bent on getting me in I might as well start getting to know you better.
no subject
Then we'll start from once you come.

[Smiling smugly, settling into a fighting position...Korra. Korra, no sparring, D_M does not need the property damage.]
You, me, one round. First one to either knock the other out or get them to surrender wins, loser has to buy ice cream.
[Because she is starving, and honestly, she's been itching to spar with somebody.]
weee''ll just go with mercury now XD /didn't know where this would lead but hey
comes with the territory; and Mercury certainly isn't backing away from a challenge. She grins in answer to Korra's own.]
Have the money ready?
s-sob, sorry
[She wants that ice cream.
...there should probably be tumbleweed tumbling along around here, buuut we'll take what we can get.]
I'm ready whenever you are!
no! i like it . XD
Shall we count? 3... 2...
[She keeps the numbers evenly spaced, ready to spring the moment the countdown ends.]
oh, thank you!
[And we're off! Korra's already in motion, water moving up with her hands before it lashes out like a whip, ready to trip the Senshi up. She's keeping a distance, though, Mercury might want to take advantage of that.]
Re: oh, thank you!
It'll serve as a blind for her next move.]
no subject
It's still hard to see, though, but with all the fire she's throwing around, she's pretty sure her opponent won't be able to do whatever she's planning on doing.]
no subject
Mercury calls it absolutely fair. Use everything you have at your disposal, avatar, every advantage. It's best to be strong. They don't need rules here anyway.
Much of the hail turns to water before it can hurt Korra; and the screen it provides is burned away in the same moment. Well, water still does well against fire, and Mercury conjures a stream of it from her hands, palms crossed in front of her.]
no subject
But there aren't many rules in D_M, and Korra is taking full advantage of that.
She gets knocked back by the stream of water, but quickly recovers and stomps hard, sending a block of rock up before launching it towards the other girl's legs. Tripping her up is still the intent here.]
no subject
She covers herself by sharp shards of ice sent straight for Korra; at the least, they'll hopefully take her attention while Mercury regains better footing.]
no subject
She'll heal that up later. Her hands move, calling the melted ice, and launches it forward as a water bullet.]
no subject
In a somewhat desperate move, she launches another set of icicles - this time coming from behind Korra.]
no subject
...okay, no it isn't. She does manage to stomp hard, and if Mercury doesn't move fast she's going to get launched into the air by a pillar of rock rising up from the ground below her, fast.]
no subject
Mercury rides the makeshift pillar into the air, keeping somewhat shaky balance until she's confident enough to leap down to the ground level again.]
That type of trick won't do you any good!
no subject
Neither's the ice!
[Is she cocky? Yes. Don't blame her, she hasn't been able to let loose like this in a long time.
This time, though, she goes on the offensive. She charges at her, jumping and twisting, swinging her foot out with a burst of fire.]
no subject
Dodge. Sweep. Pivot. Sidestep.
Then it's her turn. Each step of her defense, each blow of her offense, is calculated to work Korra towards a narrow space where Mercury will cut down her opponent's mobility and have the advantage.]
no subject
She doesn't notice that she's backing up against a wall.]
no subject
no subject
no subject
After all, she has endless experience. She reaches out with her senses, a bid to wrest control of the water from Korra.]
no subject
But screw that. She punches the ground as soon as the water slips from her, and the earth, quite literally, cracks, heading towards her opponent to knock her off balance.]
no subject
No. But the momentary lapse of focus is enough to drive her down to a crouch, shaken off her balance.]
