smug vampire is smug.
Congratulations.
Your unwitting comment has drawn my favourite hunter out to play; I'm almost pleased with you.
Don't worry, I'm not going to kill him.
That's much too messy.

CRASHES INTO LIKE WOAH
Oh hello. Fancy meeting you here, Hibarin. His mun totally did not throw him here on purpose, nope. ]
...It's you.
[ His voice is oh so flat, his expression disgruntled. ]
/floats aside >)
[ Looks like you haven't changed a bit. ] How's your eye? [ oh oops was that a sore subject? Mukuro should've seen that one coming, he really should've. ]
>( MUKURO USES PETRIFYING STARE
He is going to kill you so slowly, mundane.Mukuro forces a smile for the vampire as the empty socket twinges. It's healed well, a patch covering the ugly scar left behind. Most of the time, he forgets he ever had two eyes.Of course, he refuses to rise to the vampire's bait. He touches the other eye, the one that is still there. ]
It's functioning just fine, thank you for asking, [ he says tartly. ] Though I wish I could've been spared the sight of you.
CACKLES
[ And then he's behind Mukuro. When did he get there? Who knows. ]
>((((
why so serious???
You've gotten faster, [ he says approvingly. Younger vampires would fall to Mukuro without a problem for the hunter - but he's still not good enough to beat Hibarin. ]
/throws knives at
He's not sure whether to be glad he took blood supplements earlier. Hunger sometimes gave him an edge while fighting, but it could also be distracting. ]
/melts them :>
How old are you now? I'm afraid I've lost track. [ Surely Mukuro was already over 60. Hmm. It's pretty clear that he's not taking the fight seriously - not yet, anyway - because he's still making these little comments as he avoids each and every attack with minimal movement. ]
/stabs at x(
I'm twenty-five, [ he grates out at one point. He actually turned seventy-five a few months back. Appearances had to be maintained. You never knew who was listening
or readingin. ]poof where's he gone???
Oops.

Seventy-five. [ He takes several even breaths, keeping himself alert for any further movement. ] Funny how you remember my age when you can't even remember yours.

/STALKS AROUND LISTENING FOR HIM
I like to count the years. It's been ten since you took my eye. I think a little anniversary celebration is in order, don't you think?
[ His own eye seems to glint the closer he approaches. ] A pity yours would grow back if I tried to take it. I suppose I'll settle for your heart.
/nibbles on his neck and flees cackling
It still looks as though he's not moving - though if Mukuro were to actually pierce him, the weapon would go straight through the body. How? Well, he can dissipate into a cloud of particles, you know. It's one of his favourite abilities - besides, the dark of the night would (mostly) conceal the trick. ]
/SWATS HIM D8<
[ He takes one last step forward - but instead of meeting fleshy resistance, his staff goes right through the vampire's body. Hibarin himself dissolves into a dark cloud that blends perfectly into the shadows.
It's not the first time he's seen that trick so he's not the least bit surprised. Instead he keeps his weapon close to his body and extends all his senses to the furthest they can go, listening, waiting, for Hibarin to reappear. He spins slowly around and puts his back to the wall so that the other can't ambush him from behind again. ]
What would you suggest I take in place of an eye then? [ he asks of the shadows, where the vampire is presumably hiding. ]
DENIED
/CHOMPS
hehehe that tickles -w-
Even if the chain is silver (which it probably is), it'd do nothing more than tickle him. Another advantage of age, he supposes. ]
/gnaws on =n=
/pats face
You should really let go, you know, [ he says casually, as if he's not busy choking the life out of someone. He wouldn't really kill Mukuro - now was not the right time - but the hunter didn't need to know that. ]
he wants to drink blood like you do =n=
[ Mukuro's face is turning an interesting colour. The hunter begins to see spots in his vision and, knowing he doesn't have much time left before he really does black out, the hand on clutched around the fang fumbles for one of the many silver blades kept on his person. Drawing it, he stabs it desperately at roughly where Hibari's abdomen ought to be. He doesn't expect it to go in; he simply wants the vampire to let go so he can breathe.
But, on the off chance Hibari did let it strike, Mukuro would twist the knife viciously into the vampire's flesh after getting over his surprise. ]
no no, you need sharper teeth for that 8(
Good night, Mukuro, [ he murmurs - it's almost fond, but the way he twists the necklace is anything but. He is waiting patiently for Mukuro to pass out, and he'll wait for as long as it takes. ]
curse his half-blood /shakes fist
he thinks it's cute ehehe
When Mukuro wakes up, there'll be no sign of him anywhere - indeed, no sign that he'd ever been there at all. Well, apart from the missing fang, and that very conspicuous rose that's been left on the Hunter's chest. It's perfectly formed, petals red as blood. There's a note tied to the stem, carefully written in flowing script. ]
It was nice to see you again. Send my greetings to Chrome. [ Somewhere very far away, Hibarin is probably cackling. ]
it's not cute X(!!
Through blurry eyes he stares at it, not comprehending. Then his hand flies to his neck and the memory suddenly hits him.
Gritting his teeth, he glares at the blood-red rose and the writing attached to its stem. Bested again. Would he never be able to win against the vampire? The rose felt like a taunt to him, and he considered crushing it underheel. But instead he picked it up carefully after sheathing his knife, and slowly wobbled upright. ]
I'll stake you one day, [ he seethed quietly, tucking the rose stem into his pocket. He'd be keeping the rose safe in a vase at home until the day he managed to slay his lifelong opponent. ]

I do so enjoy finding men of your caliber, rare though they may be.

[ He tilts his head slightly to acknowledge the compliment. ] It took me a long time to start appreciating the finer things in life.

[She smiles at his latter statement.]
I know the feeling. [After 800 years, how could one not?]

[ It was kind of endearing, how determined the man was to hunt him down and stake him. ]

[She can appreciate that.]
