Canon: Hawaii Five-0

Okay, so you dragged me back out for what exactly? Not that I'm complaining. That's more Danno's cup of tea than it is mine. Speaking of which you realize my partner isn't here right? I know you ship us together (which doesn't bother me) but we've never really found a Danny that's been around. I'm not saying that we eventually won't but still. Maybe we should've put a bit more thought into this. I mean I'm out here alone. My team is off who knows where and I'm here.

You're throwing me at bakerstreet memes. Which might be a bit dangerous if we get a bite from someone, so to speak. But it's a start.

Don't you have enough cops in your head anyway? Sara Pezzini and Catherine Chandler being two of them. There's another but I don't know his name. So I'll go hang out with them for a while. Till we get things started around here.

With love,

Steve

What if I was? You aren't the only one who can be a ninja you know.

ooc Missed their interaction but life took it's toll. They interacted a bit back on lj. But hey you are welcome!

I know how you feel. My mun dragged me back out and I was nervous about it until my...well, now he's my fiance suddenly appeared out of like nowhere.

Yeah, it's actually worked out pretty well.

[She smiles and offers a hand.]

I'm Caitlin. I feel like I should say 'welcome' or something like that?

Well it's a pleasure to meet you. I don't interact with many cops myself, although we had a bomb threat at my office once.

Oh? What is it you do, if I can ask? [She's an engineer on a cable sports show in New York. She knows next to nothing about law enforcement.]

Caitlin is duly impressed. "That's a heck of an accomplishment. I mean, it must be really challenging stuff," she comments. Her world is a pretty small one, except for a few things here and there when she worked in Los Angeles. "I'm a control room engineer on Sports Night. I push all the buttons so the show stays on the air." Blushing a little because she knows it totally doesn't compare.

Well let's face it. Obi-wan is cool and all, but Yoda is still more badass.

"My father's a retired cop. He was with the St. Louis Police Department for 28 years," Caitlin commented. "Hawaii, though? Is it as nice as they say it is out there? I've never been. I just went to Las Vegas the first time this past weekend."

Yep, that went over her head there (no surprise given the farthest West she's ever been is Los Angeles). "A what now?" she replies with a chuckle. "I probably should go eventually. The older I get the more I feel like I should travel more, see more of the country. I've always been a bit of a homebody."

"I love seafood," she said with a little nod. "That was one of the nice things when I used to live in Los Angeles, was that I could drive out toward the coast and down south and check out some of the seafood restaurants around. New York, I'm still learning the place."

"I'll remember that. Thanks." Caitlin smiled, wondering when the next time she'd get time off would even be. It would probably depend on whenever she and Dan actually got married, and then they could take a honeymoon. But since they hadn't even talked about it, it might be awhile. "If you ever get to New York, I'd be happy to show you around the studio, if you're into that," she offered. "We're right in midtown Manhattan."

"I'd do my best. I'm still discovering a lot of it myself. It was kind of an impulse decision to move - my dream job opened up and I was lucky enough to land it." She shakes her head a little, still in disbelief on that count. "Did you ever want to do anything else, or did you always know you'd go into the field that you did?"
