[Arceus raises its head, straightens. It found it hard to.]
...I've heard what man has named me. You don't need to tell me that. Lugia, though...yes, the name you gave my moon child...it gave you speech, and gave a way of speaking to those who didn't. I hope to hear what I sound like - it would help me know me.
[Arceus, giving you more internal organs than eyes, a brain, and a heart would be a very bad idea. Only so much room for...well. Spoilers.]
He's that kind of guy. Legendary pokemon are his passion, after all.
[What is...what. Arceus blinks. The people it met often wanted more thorough tellings, with names and emotions and reasons. Things...thing is thing. It's that simple. But when its name is said, Arceus stiffens and its eyes widen and its thoughts come clipped and tight...but it soon relaxes, not hearing it again.]
Sounds. A speaking language. Words. Before my moon child we only moved - there were no thoughts, or what was there was what we saw or wanted to see. When my warming child tore out the eyes of my age children and banished them, my moon and scare children made words like this for them and you!
[And Arceus stamps its foot a couple times, making two little dots next to each other. Look, Jiri, at all a one-word question got you! Probably a truckload of others.]
[Maybe...maybe saying their names won't hurt them as much as it did...and it does want to see them again.]
My moon child, Lugia. My warming child, Reshiram. My age children, Regirock, Regice, Registeel...though Registeel is a making of man's. My scare child, Raikou.
...Eyes were eyes. They had them and my warming child took them. I told you that because you wanted to know about Lugia, who gave them a way to talk because they couldn't see.
[Conversations with Arceus tend to be weird and sparse on specifics, so Jirarudan is in good company! Or at least common.]
[Then something occurs to it and it slows its panic. Stands still.]
...The Flygon spoke of games that meant this and games that meant that, even if the same word was used...and Cadence told me she came from another world and there was a boy man named Shaun who was a man and not my child...the inventors are from another world, then! I understand!
[Crisis ended! Congratulations, Arceus! You will now be an example in a psychology textbook under 'rationalization.' Absurd. Also, asking what Arceus understands is an option. It probably won't explain otherwise.]

[Arceus wags its tail. It doesn't know the word for warm, but it likes (or that word...its meaning, anyway) the sun. The first light, though...its eyes widen and it jumps in place. Excite!]
Then I did! Oh thank you! I'm glad to have met you and wish you cake.
[Lacks enough wisdom to not know what lack and wisdom are. Arceus wiggles a little because it enjoys hearing about itself, long as its given name isn't spoken. Sounds wonderful, though...phrase memorized for impending application of careless misuse.]
I was told I'm called the one who breathed alone and that I made everything. What can you tell me of me?
Edited (Ahaha WHOOP copy/pasted too high.) 2013-12-05 19:35 (UTC)
Well...it's said that you created the universe. That you were born from a formless egg and brought about all creation. You birthed the gods of time, space, and antimatter to maintain what you had built, as well as the trio that brought about emotion, knowledge, and willpower. I'm...not sure if those attributes existed before them. Perhaps those three simply regulate them as well.
Anyway, you're said to have created the universe with a thousand arms, though that's likely metaphorical. Um...likely a story made up to explain your abilities.
I'm pretty amused that "haay it's my birthday" manifested in a Legendary swarm.

I've studied Lugia for most of my life and I'd never heard that before. Speech?
Should meet 3rd movie professor guy. Or maybe not.

That would be great.
...I'm sorry; could you be more direct?

He doesn't tend to pick up on subtlety very well
Perfectly fine!

[Oh my god Jira you just shattered Arceus' nonchalant surety of everything.]
I don't understand. I, I was told...!
Hahahaha well he's also very literal
W-well, perhaps it inspired them to do so...!

B-but it's still n-not what I know!

It's...only normal to feel strange when things aren't what you know. I suppose...
no subject
Strange...so that's what this is called. Oh thank you. What is inspired?
[Yeah, Arceus...can change moods rather quick.]

[he's really not used to explaining things]
It's when there's a spark inside you. Not an electrical spark, but a newly awakened light.
no subject
...Awakened. Like when the world was made. I hope I can feel inspired and know when I am. Is what's inside me a light too?
[No, Arceus. It's a lot more dangerous.]

sorry, was without internet
'Tis fine! And wow, precisely a month.
[Wow a second true friend this is amazing! Briefly Arceus wonders how many someone can have.]
hahaha eep.
