[Natalie is amused at her mun's attempt to give her friends, and daydreaming about her getting a happy ending, but feels compelled to speak up about the implausibility of both things.]

Mun:

Just because there are obviously other people in my office, and at my old law firm that I still talk to, does not mean you have to name and then come up with a story for every single one of them.

I appreciate your intentions, but you really will drive yourself crazy.

And speaking of people that don't exist, I do not have a crush on Will Gardner. It might be because there isn't a Will Gardner in existence. It might be cute to you, but it's not going to happen.

[And she goes back to her black cherry ice cream and late-night reruns of Law & Order.]

My mun has this show she watches and thinks I'd be a great match for this guy on it. I keep telling her it doesn't matter if no one actually plays him.

That's true. Although I'd like to have a relationship of some kind eventually, I just don't see why she's so preoccupied with fixing me up.

It's typical, sweetheart- I figure it's just 'cos relationships can have a lot of stuff happen and what else are we around for but doing stuff?

That or going back into the CIA, and I am so over that.

Sea Eye What? Sorry honey, you lost me.

[Because a world that hasn't had war in three thousand years didn't think to make a CIA.]

Aye? In my experience you gotta be a talented person to be part of a government organization with an acronym.

Well, thank you. But it was one of those organizations where it's a young person's game, and I'm in my 40's now. I'm literally too old for that.

I'd never have guessed! Hope you don't mind me saying you give me young man wishes.

[And she can enjoy a flirty eyebrow on top of that.]

[Natalie laughs softly, and gives him a smile back.]

That's very kind of you to say. I'm afraid my personal life is a bit stagnant at the moment...which is probably why the mun is so preoccupied with it.

Well, that's too bad. How about you do me the honour of letting me fix that as best I can, as a tall, dark handsome stranger?

If you're suggesting a drink, I'd be amenable to that.

Ooohooh, the all business attitude is giving me tingles! [He even shivers in obvious delight.] When is whenever you want and where... Depends. What sort of scene you into, gorgeous? You strike me as the sort who'd like a place I'd have to put a shirt on for.

{Natalie just gives him one of her patented unimpressed lawyer looks. Now she's thinking this might be a long night.}

That's...generally a good idea, yes. Most places you have to do that.

You'd be surprised. I can go months without wearing a shirt and still enjoy a drink in good company. [Because he doesn't like wearing shirts and he's a member of a human subspecies that does what it wants, damnit.]

Okay, so classy joint. I can handle that.

It's really not that bad. I'm not that stuck-up.
