Yet that is entirely a reflection on the unwillingness of the masses to consider the world around them, the big picture. Aside from that, you place physical development of an individual over the betterment and safety of the world. You may convince yourself that you are safe, but the world is a violent place, and the root of that violence is emotion. That we turn eyes away is also emotion, how we do as you have and speak of happiness...only turning away from the strife the world contains.
