Of all the demons and monsters in your mind, I'm the one you find most intimidating? Why, I'm flattered.

You may have heard that it's a bad thing to have me in your head, but I'm not the one who can, even in your imagination, do you damage. I am abnormal and glad to be so, but there are things in here more fearsome than a young artist. Even one who has chosen such an unusual medium as I have.

So to know that I am more unnerving than aliens and demons, faeries and gods? That is a fine gift.

Sometimes the most intimidating individuals are the most evasive and mysterious ones.

I can imagine. You're flattered to be the most intimidating, however, makes one wonder if there's something to that.

Not quite, I'm just wondering why you find it to be a gift or flattery. There are certain implications there, but is being intimidating a compliment because we associate it with power--and who doesn't want power--or is it an insult because it speaks to a place inside of us that's deeply insecure?

I suspect the definition of frightening here has nothing to do with jumping out of the bushes and scaring people for kicks.

*She's cordial in kind, fortunately.* Doctor Chase Meridian.

*Also, feel free to see the pun in her name - chasing the halfway point in human beings.*

Clever, yes it does...I try to find the balance inside of people, to reconcile their dualities.

That could have a number of meanings. Hann means grace and Ba'al was a god, but I'm certain that's not your meaning even though it's a very poetic name. Grace of Ba'al.

I suppose it depends on your perceptions of God, some people imagine a wrathful and indiscriminate being. *Well now, you have her attention.* I admire your honesty, would you care to talk more about your cannibalism?

There is truth in that, but in such a cruel world shouldn't someone find the good and hold onto it with all of their strength?

As a psychologist I'm interested in why people are who they are, if it's not too invasive.

We are enlightened beings, we have the will to chose and defy whatever the nature of whatever originator we believe in.

I'm very sorry, if it's difficult we don't have to talk about it, but it might help.

You are hurting an innocent, you are hurting yourself.

I don't mean to play, I have no intention of toying with you...and as for biting, we could establish boundaries, communicate, find a safe place for the both of us.

Because someone else hurt you and took it away.

You don't know that, but if this is going to work then there needs to be trust. If I can count on you not to hurt anyone until we've tried, you have my professional confidentiality and my unconditional silence.

I believe in the part of you that still remains untouched.

Why don't I put together a small list of topics and we can talk about them all starting with whatever you are most comfortable with. Is this agreeable?

And when I'm not around that's when your mettle will be tested, but Hannibal, if you need an anchor don't hesitate to call on me. *She's on to his loopholes, but she did promise to trust him and letting him operate on his own is part of that trust.*

Men often fall prey to their own darkness. What is more unnerving that recognize the innate flaws of your own species?

[Joking to answer a rhetoric question, nonetheless she/he asks.]

Is that what you fear the most?
