Entry tags:
on hopefully returning to
paradisa
Well, I look forward to returning whether I bring with me my memories of my last visit or not. Those I befriended before, I'm sure that I can befriend again. Returning to Cair Paradisa requires that you return to your reading however, you're having far too much fun and letting yourself become too distracted by that "Grand Theft Auto" game of yours. And no doubt that your friends will understand if you take a break from returning tags that you can review the book for me. Especially when you've so wanted me to return for several months now.
[Cheerful grin!] Come on now, don't waste time! Yours is limited.

His son, no less....
[Thorin doesn't know how he feels about this. His mun, however, is too excited for words!!]

I suppose that not everyone could be happy to see me return.
[Gonna play nice because Legolas has grown up beyond exchanging sharp words with dwarves. Thanks to Gimli.]
My relation to my King has no bearing on this.
no subject
[Thorin's actually become quite civil around Galadriel since he entered the castle...]
I warn you, pull any Elf mischief to earn the castle's wrath and I will bring the hammer of Mahal down upon you!
[Plenty of horrible things have been happening in the recent weeks, Thorin doesn't want to see any more suffering in the castle...good luck with that, King Under the Mountain!]
no subject
[Said very simply, reminding himself that he must not rise to the bait.]
Explain to me, O King Under the Mountain, how it affects this? What does my being his son do to upset you so?
[Especially when Legolas is first and foremost, Thranduil's subject.]
And do not threaten me, dwarf.
no subject
You're his son - thus you're likely one and the same.
[Way to make friends, Thorin...]
And do not condescend to me, Elf.
no subject
Then do not instigate such behavior in others.
no subject
Be very careful with your next words...
no subject
The fall of Erebor to a dragon was a tragedy but nothing to do with my kin and I.
no subject
[...Thorin, you keep forgetting that Smaug is a dragon and Elves are flammable]
no subject
And what loyalty or care did we have then of dwarves?
no subject
[Yes, Thorin, because you so whole-heartedly reach out to each and every Elf you meet too with your fuzzy personality...]
Heh, perhaps it would be good for you to come to the castle - I would rather enjoy seeing you squirm under its tortures...
[That's hitting below the belt, Thorin...]
no subject
You will be sorely disappointed then, Son of Thrain. I may not recall my time there once I return, but if I did not suffer then, I will not suffer now.
[And now he's just going to be a smug little shit.]
no subject
Oh, but I've forgotten myself; when faced with the death of others, those with emotions and souls grieve.
Elves lack both, thus you're quite correct, you wouldn't suffer in the castle. Forgive my forgetful mind.
[Aaaaaaand Thorin'll see your 'smug little shit' and raise you a 'sarcastic jackass.']
no subject
... No, he calms quickly. He is five hundred years old, dammit. And his best friend is a relation to Thorin, no matter how distant.]
I will not let you destroy what friendships have been formed since your time, Thorin Oakenshield. It is only because of Gimli that I will not seek to fight with you now.

Nothing to say?
no subject
......What has Gloin's boy got to do with anything?
no subject
Gimli is my friend.
no subject
[Have a very shocked and unamused Thorin.]
....I haven't time for your trickery, Elf.

Do not speak of what you do not know.
no subject
You used some manner of magic or promised him something to trick him!

...the boy's been led astray...I'll need to confront his father on this matter...
[Though really, he'd rather not.]

[Which explains why it's such a devastating loss when one of them dies...]

[...Thorin please stop before you get an arrow through your eye...]

Really though, he's doing a fantastic job of riling the elf up.]
Than I suggest you concern yourself with matters that are your own business rather than mine and Gimli's.
no subject
Gimli is of my clan and my kingdom of Erebor. Therefore he is my business!
no subject
[Whoops. Spoilers~]
no subject
Whether I am alive or not, Gimli is Gloin's son, and therefore a cousin of mine.
As I said, he is of my clan. My family.
My business.
no subject
If Gloin had any worries of Gimli traveling with an elf, he'd have raised them during Elrond's council.
no subject
[He can say 'we' even though he had no children of his own because he regards Kili and Fili as his own sons.]
We also know how to guide them in the proper direction for their lives! Befriending an Elf would only bring sadness and pain, if not death!!
Your lot locked up his father and companions! What reason in Mahal's beard would Gimli have to befriend you??
no subject
[This is obviously going to turn into a great 'friendship' isn't it?]
My king did as he thought best at the time when you were harassing us in our merrymaking.
[He's not answering the other question. Because fuck you, Thorin.]
no subject
[Oh yeah, bros 4 life.]
Harassing you in your merrymaking? We were lost and trying to pass through the forest! Nothing more! We did not seek out the wood Elves as a target!
Believe me, I take no pleasure in your kind's company, thus I would not seek you out, not even to attack you.
You're not worth the effort.
[....yep, he just sealed his own coffin. Been nice knowin' ya' Thorin!!]
no subject
[Aww yeah.]
Stomping through the forest, leaping into the light and frightening all there? Risking drawing the attention of the spiders on us? What were we left to think?
[If only Legolas could bring himself to hurt him. Even just a little. But no, he's better than that.]
Nor are you.
no subject
It's Mirkwood - naturally we were drawn to the light! See it from our perspective, fool! We were running from the spiders, weakened and disoriented from their venom. We thought the light was a means to finding the path to lead us out of the forest, or even the forest's exit!
Trespass was not our intention.
no subject
When you entered the forest, you should have remained on the path where our magic kept spiders from wandering.
You say we should see things from your perspective but have you attempted to see anything from ours? More than a thousand years have we lived in Mirkwood, the Forest of Great Fear as others call it. And in that time, we have fought and dealt with the threats here while few have dared enter the realm.
no subject
Circumstances arose and we lost track of the path! You live there, you must admit that it is an easy accident to fall into!
Believe me, if we could have stayed on the path and avoided your lot altogether, I would have been a much happier Dwarf, I promise you that!

My company, which included a Hobbit at the time, stumbled through the forest and were forced off the path by means beyond our control!
