I'm not sure what a Pokemon is, but I'm not one.

Mine doesn't listen to me, either. But, I can't form a contract with myself. I can't use that to make my mundane listen to me.

I haven't had the opportunity to form one with another person since arriving in this world, though.

If there's one thing I've learned about trainers, it's that you can't change their minds. So why not let them have their fun?

Besides, if they are making the wrong choice, it might be good for a laugh somewhere down the line.

A laugh isn't bad, until you're the one having to clean up their messes. I learned that from traveling with Ash.

Oh, don't I know it. After eight kids, I'm something of an expert on dealing with messes. Still, sometimes you've just gotta let things go.

How do you let go when you know it's a mistake? Don't you want to fix it for them all the time?

Luckily not all at once, so it wasn't as bad as it sounds. [Honestly, despite some moments of frustration, she loved it. Wouldn't trade a second of the time she's spent with her children for the world.]

That's the tricky part. You want to help, and you should, but there's such a thing as too much. If you're always there to take care of the problems, they're not going to know what to do without you. [She sighs, her tail curling around her legs.] You've gotta let them stumble, but be there to catch them if they fall.

C'mon, Misty. Each starter has their attributes, and Fennekin is just as good a choice as Froakie.

From the sound of it Fennekin might actually be sensible, though - isn't one of the early Gyms in Kalos specialized in Bug Pokemon? Though I and my mundane both agree that Frogadier looks quite dashing.

Then again, I guess I'm a little less invested. Until some region starts offering beginning trainers Ghost-type starters, anyway.

My mun is of the same opinion, especially given the availability of Bulbasaur and Torchick. Froakie seems to be the logical decision. Or Chespin at least.
