Yes and no. If you just stay at the local house, you'll get food, clothes and housing. A job's for if you want spending cash, better stuff or to live outside, or if you're crazy like me and are trying to make a life out here in some way.

Basically, you want to live better than the basics, or you don't like staying in Freya House, and you'll be getting a job. Personally I suggest something to do anyway.
