Reacting to certain author related hints

Six people are going to die in the next book, but I utterly refuse to believe Alec will be one of them. He's too vital. Honestly, he's the solid rock that holds all of us together. I mean, I go off and pull some pretty dangerous stunts and he's always the one at my back telling me not to do stupid stuff like that.

And let's not forget that losing a Parabatai can be very damaging. Some never recover from it.

[Alec has few thoughts on his own about the spoilers and the author giving them, but it's good to know that he's appreciated when most of the time he feels forgotten. His expression falters slightly as he thinks of what losing a parabatai might do to Jace since Alec has felt that before.]

I think I'm going to be one of the six, Jace.

[There's a very strong conviction in his voice. It's almost an order]

I hardly think the High Warlock of Brooklyn would ever allow such a thing to come to pass. Not to mention I'd raze heaven and hell to ashes just to rip your soul from their clutches.

[And maybe that's why the idea of being one of the six doesn't bother him as much as it should. Maybe it's what he deserves after what he's done. His family is what matters and if he does protecting them...]

Don't say things like that. It makes you sound like Sebastian. Stopping him is what's important, not me. I'm more worried about Izzy than myself. The spoilers make it sound like she's going to be one of the six.

Okay, I'm not his biggest fan, but Magnus clearly loves you. Just think of all the stupid things I've done in the name of love and try to imagine what that glittery bastard would do if you were truly in danger.

No, they can't take two Lightwoods from me. They can't even take one, not if I have anything to say about it. Are you referring to the 'Dying in your arms' bit?

He's made it clear that loving me doesn't matter. [Which easily translates into him not mattering either, at least it's an assumption that Alec's been going with since his mun finished Lost Souls.] So why would it matter to him if I die?

Everyone seems to think that bit is about you and me, but it sounds more like Isabelle. She's the one that keeps pretending she's not in love.

I think it's them. Maybe Simon's going to turn her, but my mundane's thinking I'm getting fangs in the next book.

All this chasing after Clary has been one clever ruse to hide my lustful intentions towards you.

[Sometimes he thought it would be easier if he could have loved Alec back the way his friend had wanted him to and just thought of Clary as a sister]

That would've given me a heart attack a few months ago. How much strangeness was in the last chapter of that book, it wouldn't have surprised me if you'd confessed that.

[A trace of uncertainty creeps into his voice.]

If I did get turned, would it change anything?

No, not to me. You'd still be Alec Lightwood. I mean, really, even Simon made a halfway decent vampire. You'd blow him out of the water entirely.

[His hand went to his neck]

[Rolling his eyes, Alec can't help smiling at the idea of Jace not being able to stop him from biting him.]

If I even thought of it, you'd kick my ass before I knew what hit me. Even if you didn't... My mun and I are still trying to figure out what happened in the end of that book but I think getting too close to you would get me fried.

[ Yeah. He's just holding back any words about Alec dying. Because as much as he'd like that break up to be clean and easy. It was'nt exactly peachy on his end either. His apartment was pretty much filled with empty bottles of vodka and old Chinese food.]

At least I'm out of the potential victims list. [ Though, hey, If Alec had gone though with that deal...]
