You already know how I feel about this.

I can't say I really enjoy being tossed into a place where I have to fight to live. There's more important things I need to focus on, and this isn't what I need right now. So if you're going to throw me into one of your games, I'd rather not be in this one in particular.

...Don't get me wrong. I like that you're interested again. Just thinks this over.

Because there's so many where you fight for your life.

It's the one with the Hunger Games. The same one as before.

I know. It's like no matter where you go, you always expect the same things to happen.

No, I haven't. I was eaten to death by corrupted Users the first time. By the second Arena, I was returned to Argon about halfway through. I was hurt, though.

You seemed so confident about the Games before, Mechanic. What's the worry?

These Games are completely different. It's run by Users.

From what it sounds like to me, it doesn't seem much different than the Games at the Coliseum. Just run by Users instead of Programs.

Care to elaborate?

You're put into teams called Tributes. And they throw you into an Arena where you all have to kill each other.

...I know it's like the Games in Argon. But it doesn't feel right that the Users are doing it.

It doesn't feel right when anyone is doing it, Programs or Users. [ A brief moment of solemnity passes, before she gives a slight smile. ] But I see your point. The Users seem to have no trouble throwing others into perilous situations for their sole enjoyment.

[ She had a point...was she saying this because she was serious, or...? ]

They don't seem to mind twisting things around, either. They somehow managed to give me a User body. I was there for a few Games, and I still wasn't used to it by the time I was pulled out.

A User body? How is that even possible—? [ She quickly discards the question for a more important one: ] What's it like?

I don't know. They never really explained how it happened. The only thing I had from a Program body was my identity disc.

...It's difficult to keep up. You have to feed it a lot and give it plenty of sleep. And some viruses you catch doesn't have a cure, and you can be stuck with it for cycles. I can't even tell how the time goes in a User's body.

Seems like too much of a hassle to me. [ Despite the seriousness of the situation, her statement sounds playful. Only for a moment though, as the grave tone returns. ] But, I guess these Users don't really care much about that when they're throwing Programs into Games for their own enjoyment.

Though... my "User" isn't pretty bad. She has no intentions of pulling me off the Grid. For now, at least.

I guess not. It's kind of a rough fact to accept.

[ He pauses... ] My User's always up for doing something, if you'd want to. Unless yours doesn't want to.

[ Eesh. That would be interesting! Renegade or no Renegade. ]

Oh, mine definitely wants to. [ She pauses to smile. ] I wouldn't mind it so much myself either.

She's got a 'PSL' going— [ She shakes her head a bit, not quite understanding this strange User terminology. ] —that she's more than alright with you being a part of. It's... not half bad really. It doesn't require leaving the Grid or being turned into a User.

Can't say I disagree with that. [ He crosses his arms, and smiles back. ]

That sounds pretty good. My User says thanks. And that she wants to do more. She also said your User is really good at writing. And coding.

My User gives a gracious "thank you" but that the "writing is all hers, the coding not so much." [ She raises her eyebrows a bit, tilting her head just slightly. Her smile looks more amused than anything. ] She says that you're welcome to join at any time. It's... interesting, that's for sure, but at least you won't have to be thrown into the Games by Users.

That sounds like a good plan. Especially without being thrown into Games.

My User's going to throw in a request to join your ps-l or whatever its' called. She also sends a thanks.

Apparently you're welcome to participate any time you'd like. In fact, it's fervently recommended. [ She chuckles. ] She assures me that Asuka's User is all for it too.

That sounds good. She'll be sure to ask around before she really start getting into things though.

Just to be on the safe side. She's pretty cautious.

That doesn't seem to be much of an issue, though it does sound like someone else I know.
