 Mundane, I appreciate your compassion towards my fate. But please...do not grieve.

This is merely one step into a new life.



And a new home for all of those who have so loyally stood by my side in such difficult times. I ask you not consider me lost, but merely...transformed.

That is the nature of our species, and it has not changed now.  



But know this, I will forever remain with you as your muse, as long as you will have me.

Mmm.

It would appear so. Perhaps we shall skip the formalities, then.

[There's a soft, fatherly smile forming on his lips. No, he doesn't regret anything right now.]

[Really? Not even a little? Couldn't have waited even a little and spend some time with them? Arcee can't bring herself to smile anymore, it just feels like to happened too fast.]

It's not going to be the same without you.

Arcee.

[He kneels down, placing one hand on his knee and the other under her chin. Well...this is usually how their talks go, but he can't help it. Those blue eyes stare into hers, as calm and collected as ever.]

I am not gone. I am...everywhere. In every new spark that is born, in every line of Energon that flows through the planet.

[His hand moves to his own spark, and then presses against where hers would be.]

[Her eyes glance down as she looks at his hand, slowly placing both of hers around it to hold it tight. It's a nice thought, and she knows Optimus did the right thing, but sparks can't talk back to you. The planet's not going to talk back to her. There's only so much happy thoughts can do.]

If anyone deserves a break, Optimus, it's you. Tell Primus I said hi.

[The very idea makes Optimus's eyes light up, as his hand slowly curls around both of hers, practically enveloping them.]

I will pass it on.

It has been quite a journey for us both. And one I will always keep with my spark, no matter where it may go. As will my memory of you.

[Her grip gets tighter as she squeezes that hand with everything she's got. It's like if she can just keep a hold of this hand, then he won't have to leave. Really, it doesn't seem fair. The bots that will be born from his sacrifice will never know him, never get a chance to thank him. She could tell them how amazing he was...is...but they'll never truly know without seeing it themselves.]

I'm going to miss you. ...We all are. I don't think a day will go by without us thinking about you in some way.

[Optimus knows. But he's placing his faith in all of them. In Arcee...in Bulkhead...

In Ratchet.

To let them all know the story that unraveled. The death and rebirth of a planet, beginning and ending with one Prime. A story much like...

A librarian would share to anyone who wished to know.



And that was how things should be.]

I will miss you as well, Arcee. I have never been able to fully express it...but you have all made an impact on me.

We are, and will always be...family.

[Oh. Oh no. She's not sure how much more of this she can take.]

Stop...

[It's not that she disagrees, in fact she agrees a great deal, but... it hurts.]

[And he does. No more words need to be said right now.

But he does press his forehead to hers, closing his eyes. Just...one small moment with her. For her.]

[She can't stress enough just how unfair this all seems. Optimus won't even be able to enjoy the new Cybertron he just created.

When he touches her head, though, she pretty much loses it, pressing back and throwing her arms around him. There isn't any crying or anything like that, she even smiles a little, but there's a whole lack of caring right now and all she wants to do is enjoy this final moment.]

[Those arms hover over her as she wraps her own around his neck, slowly but surely touching her back and keeping her there. In that soft embrace.

She didn't know it, but he'd be enjoying that Cybertron they'd made. When he entered Primus's core, he could feel himsel spread out. Each of those new lives searched for a way to prosper. He could feel the energon lines flowing at the tips of his proverbial fingers. He could hear the heartbeat of the planet within his very being. He could see anything and everything. The sunrise...the gleam of the planet's two moons. Everything was new, and best of all, he got to watch over them exactly as he'd always wanted.

He wasn't a Prime anymore. No...he was something more.

Life didn't end at the Well of Allsparks. It's just another beginning. And someday...Arcee would understand that.

But for now, he continues that hug, a bit new to the concept, but nevertheless...
