Oh. Oh, I see how it is. You let me go because, and I quote, "you had other plots going on back then." And now, that there's the possibility of sending me into a Wheadon-esque sort of horror game, you're willing to pick me back up again.
When was the last time you watched my show? I believe it was 2003? When we went off the air? A whole decade ago. And now you're going to start writing me again.
.......Still better than being vivisected, I suppose.
But just barely.

[He does not sound pleased by this, just bitter.]

[A beat.]
Worse for me, I mean. Being stuck with him sounds a lot worse than any of the horrors this place has in store.

I kicked him to the curb after he ditched me at the altar, thereby fulfilling all the possible cliches of my pathetic mortal existence, and prompting me to go get my old job back.

I think I'll manage. I have very good coping skills.

All bets are off when it comes to rabbits.

[ Guess who was just reserved! and isn't particularly thrilled about it. If they die horribly, at least it'll be together? ]

Perhaps we can open up our store again? Although perhaps change the name, since the Magic "Box" might not go over too well.

I'm not certain what useful materials we'll be able to find in such a place, but... well, perhaps our combined knowledge will be of some use. You, um, you are aware that the population seems to rely on bartering? [ There's no money. Sorry. Still, let's take a moment to imagine Giles and Anya matter-of-factly scavenging in a creepy forest for magic supplies. ]

[A beat, she pouts and looks very upset. Then, she smiles brightly again.]
Well then we'll just have to fix that. We'll institute a gold standard. Or some other hard valued item that's sufficiently rare. Not having money in such a large population is certain to lead to anarchy, chaos, and me being cranky.

It's... an interesting idea, to be sure. But I do think we'll be preoccupied, at least initially, with- with more basic survival. Unfortunately, it seems to be that sort of place.
