You know, mun-lady, I am flattered that you decided to pick me of all people to share your head space. I do have experience in it and am gentle with fairer sex. [ Except Zorin, may she rot in hell.. Pip lights a smoke, exhales around a genial grin. ] But there is one issue I would like speak with you about should you be feeling generous.

You see the vampire in here is not the vampire I'd like to be sharing with. [ The Captain looks over his shoulder and maybe pales a little. ] And I think you've had Alucard in the box for too long. He's looking a bit hungry and if I'm going to be a snack, I'd rather find my dear Seras sucking on my neck.

So, what are my chances of a different rooming assignment?

[ There's a curious note in his voice since he's certain he's never seen this one around the manor. ]

[ her lips curve again, small and faintly amused. ] I knew Vlad. Very well indeed, actually. But I'm acquainted with what he's become since then. Little wonder how he's changed, given what was done.

Vlad eh? I can't say I've heard the infamous Hellsing trashman called that. Vampire and Servant and Master on the other hand. [ Pip shrugs loosely. Really those are details he never wanted to know too much about. There are some things a mercenary doesn't need to know about his employer. ] I must admit I can only guess at what you're referring to.

The Geese, we had a simple task - to replace Sir Hellsing's lost men. So please, forgive my ignorance, eh?

[ Pip waves his hands wildly and with no small bit of fear. ]

Don't say that, ma cherie, Alucard takes particular exception to pop culture's representation of vampires, and I'd rather he not take that out on me.

You ahhh, haven't spent much time around Alucard have you? The only change of scenery he wants involves lots of things to kill. And I do mean a lot as in hundreds since several dozen heavily armed men took him about five minutes to annihilate and I'm pretty sure he was purposefully taking his time with that.

[ Those poor Brazilian bastards. ]

A mercenary with such good manners. Will wonders never cease?

[ she dips her head briefly in a single nod, arms folding loosely across her abdomen. ] His name was Vlad once, but he's had several since then. 'Dracula'. 'Alucard'. Not, mind, that any of it matters. Do guard your soul well, though, won't you?

[ The name rolls from his tongue, savored since it's been so long since he's tasted it - or her. Of course there's no way Bernadotte will argue with Alucard taking the proverbial helm. The mercenary does have better sense than most of his kind. So there is the Count - former Count - in all of his captive glory.

For her though, the look in his eyes - often so gleefully mad - quiets in as much as it can. Much has changed after all as she already said. ]

Captain Bernadotte already gave his soul to my draculina. So he is safe enough. He was her first.

[ A touch of pride enters his voice at the last, but it's dismissed quickly in light of his current company. (In light of what he'd lost and perhaps never stood to gain in the first place.) ]

.. Vlad. [ her own expression softens, part regret and sadness and weariness, but mostly glad to see him. ] I've seen her about-- 'Seras', isn't it? You chose well.

[ there's a pause at the question, and by increments, she seems to unfold herself, tiny form stepping closer, pushing up on her toes to brush cold fingers over his cheek. ]

As well as I might be, given the circumstances. I've been patient. It's all that I can do.

[ The name, his name, spoken from her mouth is almost incongruous. He wore that name lifetimes ago. The notes of emotion in her voice ring out and he can detect each one as readily as the touch that falls on his cheek. ]

She is an exceptional creature.

[ But he’s always had an eye for that - the strong, the vibrant - which is why the sadness in her voice sounds so very wrong to his keen ears. ]

And for what is it that you wait so patiently, my lady?

[ His and not; forever in his grasp and forever out of reach. Alucard reaches up and his gloved fingers curl just beneath her chin. He would have given the world for her, to her (he would have destroyed it to find her. ]

Only a few weeks, give or take. [Or something like that; time outside of Wonderland is weird.] But there are plenty of places that aren't so uptight about killing as long as he doesn't do it all at once... I think, but then again the Management like to change the rules a lot from what I hear.

[ Pip swallows and PRAYS the vampire isn't listening to this conversation. ]

You need ask? [ she tilts her chin up at the curl of his fingers, hands bracing against his sides, wrapped tightly in his coat. ] Eternity stretches out before me. My husband and my child are dust beneath the ground, remnants of a life that I drifted through like a ghost.

[ she tilts her head, lips grazing the curve of his thumb, her own fingers lifting to twine in his tie. ]

She’d found a way and with that he knows that no matter what else had transpired after, he’d chosen correctly when he chose her. It shows in the bend of his smile tinged with amusement. ]

[ Ah but his hand shifts, long fingers brushing her cheek, tracing a path up to the bottom of her ear. ]

While I dislike the notion of being forced to have sex by way of a microchip playing havok with my brain, I do hear that there are any number of lovely ladies in the city who might need compassionate shoulder on which to lean.
