Yes. Will is obnoxiously loud even if he doesn't like coming out to play. He always has a comment for everything.

Apparently, my mun took the idea seriously and the journal has been made. I suppose I will be plagued with Herondales for the rest of my existence.

That is only unpleasant when it's Will.

You know, Mr. Lightwood... [She's holding back that knowing smile that says she is purposely using his family name to unnerve him.] That is my brother you are referring to.

And every day I wish that were not so, Miss Herondale.

Does it change things knowing that he is my brother? [An elegant brow arches as keen blue eyes watch him carefully. Growing admiration for Gabriel became hard to ignore most of the time. But that didn't mean she couldn't still banter with the hunter at least a little. Or a lot. She is a Herondale after all.]

[He looks a little embarrassed and awkward.]

[By all rights, she knows she's teasing him... but to see someone as put together and sure of himself as Gabriel look adorably awkward... well.. it makes her heart skip a few beats.]

[Pausing, she tipped her head at the rather blunt compliment. Even if it was a bit of a slight to Will.]

[This time she ducks her head and looks at the hem of her skirt as she bites at her lower lip.]

[He stops himself from finishing that sentence, sighs deeply and gives her an apologetic look.]

You are worth all the negativity he would throw at me, Cecily.

[Carefully brushing her long dark hair behind her ears, she lifts her head to smile at him a little. Maybe a touch hopeful that he really does mean that. Whatever ill that seemed to be between them was there long before she showed up. She just didn't want to have to chose between the brother she loved and Gabriel...]

If you mean that, Gabriel... truly mean it... then you have made me very happy.

[His voice softens.]

[Hesitating a moment, she finally takes a step close and reaches out. Slipping her hand into one of his, she squeezes it softly and gives him a rare blinding smile.]

[His returning smile is shyer but no less heartfelt.]
