I understand. It was too hard for you to keep up with. But, why do you think this will be any different?

...No, I'm not complaining about this. Truely, this is my preference, but that doesn't mean that I won't worry about my friends.

You get to sail again, though! That's great!

Don't worry about me and the others. We'll be okay. You better chart those seas! There's a whole big world out there waiting for you... I bet there's so much that you'll be able to find.

And who knows... maybe some of us will be able to join you, someday!

The world is already so big that it's a little daunting to do on my own, Sheba. I'll need to find a crew...and you along with everyone else make up the best one I could ever hope for.

[Says the Captain whose only ever had one Crew, and is very unworldly in his own right.]

But, it's conflicting. As much as I want to sail, I don't think that I'll be able to be satisfied until I know that everyone in the Tower is safe.

Well, you're getting at least one! So that leaves six more, right? Felix and Jenna, and the other four. Oh, seven if we're counting Kraden, I guess...

But it can't be that hard to find them! Some of them are at the Tower... more than I ever thought there would be. They're out there, somewhere. It's just a matter of making sure they know the sea is an option for them.

[She smiles at him confidently. She's been feeling a lot better about all this ever since the Tower had some of its more recent arrivals.]

One way or another, it will come to an end in a year. We'll be okay until then, because the administrators won't be able to have their fun if they kill us all off. Don't worry, Piers.

[He sighed, knowing full well that it was better to just not argue with a mind reader.]

I'll trust your word then. [He did, after all, trust her with his ship and his life.] And I'll remain hopeful that the administrators won't have their way.

But if you're mundane is being as impulsive as mine, then you might be able to get a break from everything in the Tower. This 'Davy Jones' sounds problematic...

[But they fought Poseidon himself. Davy Jones couldn't hold a candle to the Lord of the Sea.]

I'm not afraid of Davy Jones, whoever that is. You shouldn't be, either!

[They have faced worse, after all. Not just Poseidon - though he's certainly the most applicable, given that this new world they'll be exploring will mostly be explored by sea.]

A break would be nice, though. Really nice. I'm pretty sure she'll go through with it, so with any luck I'll be seeing you there really soon.

[He laughed softly, a touch embarrassed.]

I fear nothing, except not having a crew I can trust. That, and more importantly, not having my friends around. [He means you, Sheba.]

Our mundanes have been collaborating together for a while, so I don't think that either will let this opportunity slip by them.

[He smiled.]

So you have nothing to be afraid of, then. [She smiles back.] You're a good judge of character, Piers. And I'll be right there with you. Between the two of us, we're sure to find a great crew for you!

And there's that, too. My mundane's really stubborn when she puts her mind to it... almost as stubborn as Jenna! So I know for sure she'll try sending me when yours sends you.
