I know that feeling. My mun wants to separate me from my pack.

[She looks at her curiously. The only werewolf she knows doesn't have much of a pack] You're a...werewolf?

[ She lifts her chin as she smiles toothily in greeting. ] Born and bred, my whole family is.

I take it that you only recently gained your abilities? I've never heard of a werecougar before.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I mean, apparently some people where I'm from have a big problem with werewolves, but I don't really care.

[There's a pause] Sort of. And that's probably because we were kind of...extinct. We're called skinwalkers, though, not werecougars.

[untames]

People have lots of problems with werewolves, and most because they do not care to understand. [ There's a bitter tone to her voice but she doesn't want to discuss that at the moment. ] Of course others have very valid reasons.

[There's a blink, and then Maya squints] Tori? [She doesn't really know the other girl all that well, but it's enough that she should at least recognise her.]

That's stupid. [Maya's voice is firm] Lie, people are fine with witches and sorcerers that can do way more damage to people than a werewolf, but that's what they're afraid of? Stupid.
