What do you want from me woman? I did my best, and obviously it showed! I won! I will never have to swim with him again. I moved on! So change my damn user name!
I don't care if you're babysitting him in your headspace too. I don't care if you pity him! He lost! That's what happens when you're so damn wistful!
It's time you turned you attention to me. I love swimming too. Unlike him, I love competition too. You like that don't you? We are alike...so please.

[Rin, Kou is glad that you won, but you're such a bad winner. :x Because she's also Haru's manager, she also has two different feelings about it.]
Haruka-senpai was actually working hard to improve and everything. His time was getting better each time.
[And Makoto said it was for you.]
no subject
[Must be hard being a manager and having your brother on the other team, and prickly on most days.]
Well it doesn't matter now, does it? He never liked competition anyway.
no subject
I know he says that, but he was also so motivated... Always saying he didn't care about his time, yet each time was faster than the last.
no subject
Really? Maybe it was because he lacked practice.
no subject
Or that's just how Haruka-senpai is.
[It does make her wonder if the coach would've done any good. At the same time, with what Makoto said as well... It's just how things ended up.]
no subject
Either way, it's almost like you're telling me that he'd beat me if there was a next time?
no subject
Well, winning doesn't mean you'll always win. It doesn't seem right to dismiss all the future chances, hm?
no subject
I've won, I can move on to win more bouts.
no subject
[But what she means.]
You're not the only one that's going to be getting better, onii-chan. You'll see.
[And that's going to be part of the fun. No matter how this turns out, she's going to keep pushing her team as well.]
no subject
I won't stop. I'll overcome the odds like I did this one.

are vague High Speed allusions ok?
If you feel that's best.
[Who is Rin now, that he'd tell Haru something like that? He's always been an arrogant, bothersome fool, but never wanting to swim with Haru again sounds worse than 'I hate you'. Was it because of that one time he'd beaten him, so many years ago?]
[If it weren't for the same smile and the way way of goggle-snapping, he wouldn't think the person standing in front of him was Rin at all.]
Aww Haru!!! >u<
[Rin was always inspired by his father. He was an excellent swimmer. He was supposed to go forward to the Olympics. He was everything Rin hoped to become. But his father got married, and had a family. He settled for the job of a fisherman. Then the ocean swallowed his father and the dreams of ever making it big. Never to join the Olympics, and never to show the world how beautifully he could swim.]
[He was going to fulfill his father's dream. But how can he do that when at a young age he already lost to Haru? It wasn't even the Olympics and he had already lost. He felt like the greatest failure of all. And he just had to go back to Japan to redeem himself.] You and your team have a bigger problem now.
these two jerks, right
[He stares back, still silently arrogant despite everything.] I don't swim to win. You of all people should know that.
[Haru's doing what he does best-- back out, run away, be a coward. Of course he swam to win against Rin, he hadn't intended on throwing the match again, and he'd worked himself to the bone because the promise of a race against his old friend lit a fire of motivation in him. But if this is what follows every time he swims against Rin-- destruction, maybe it is better.]
[Part of him wants to hit Rin, even though he normally dislikes conflict. Part of him wants to just go to sleep.]
gaaaaaaah feels
[Haru beating him left a huge scar within Rin. Like telling Rin he was a loser. And even when he came back at least once a year, he couldn't bare to face his old friends. Not knowing if Haru bragged about Rin's loss.
He was very competitive, and having one of his best friends beat him, was the worst.]
tell me about it
Winning is irrelevant. Times don't matter. Just the water.
[If Rin loses, he runs away and doesn't want to swim with Haru anymore. If he wins, he gloats and still doesn't want to swim with Haru. What is the solution to this puzzle? Rin's never made any sense, but this is a new low. It's frustrating.]
>u<
So shouldn't you be happy about just swimming and being in the water... that's what you always say right? It's just all about water and nothing else.
[It also frustrated him. He thought he wad good. It was so easy to be with his friends when he always won with them. But when he lost to one of them, it made things more complicated.]
me and possibly a Nagisa are going to Route_29 if you're down! if not that is also awesome
Are you saying winning means more to you than it does to me, so you should win? [why does that implication raise his hackles]
that sounds familiar, if you check her plurk about it, I'm somewhere there.
Precisely! Look at you. You don't care one bit about winning? Why should you win when others work for it harder than you do? When clearly you don't care about the outcome of the race.
That's total BS you know!
yes good
Because the winner isn't the person who wants to win. It's the fastest one.
Which reminds me, I should add people XD

You should know that I don't care about winning. I only care about swimming freestyle.
[ What do you want from him, Rin? He wouldn't directly ask you that question. Haruka would rather stay silent, not be in fights, and he didn't want to keep crushing Rin and making him feel this way. Shouldn't they both just be happy? Whose to say if that would ever happen. ]
no subject
[He also wondered about that username. But he was just silent about it. Here was the guy who crushed all his hopes and dreams early on. He thought he was good enough. He thought he could make it to the Olympic tournament. But obviously, someone was so much better than him. What's worse, he does not care about competition at all.]
no subject
Did you really have to?
[ Couldn't they just swim together and be happy?] The words truly would never come out from his mouth. Haruka would rather stare off into space or look at whatever else close by. For now he would change the subject. ]
You were going to show me something different.
no subject
There was no way you'd be able to do butterfly swimming in the little time you had to practice.
[Swimming for pleasure and happiness was a thing of the past for Rin.]
And did I disappoint?
no subject
I only swim freestyle. [ Why, yes, he was a broken record now. ]
No. You helped us win the competition. [ He pressed his lips together. We got to swim together. Did he truly miss doing that with everyone... including Rin? Who claims to be different? How different was he? ]
no subject
And it was a glorious win, was it not? [He also wants to swim. He wants to swim badly. But there was no way he'd allow his friends to drag him down, just like his mother pulled his father down.]
