Dear Mun,

So you made me leave that other site and you brought me here. Only there's not much for me to do here. I know you tried and that girl got all offended. But you need to try again because she obviously didn't understand that I was a character and not simply some random person.

It will be okay and I will not leave you for this. I know you had to leave that Other Place.

Oh there's places here and there.

[She's taken back by the voice.]

Oh? Are any of them... as my mun likes to say "active"? I mean we've been looking but most seem to... well not be active.

It does depend on what you're looking for. My mun keeps dragging me into these "in-character" writing places.

But unfortunately we've not found a good free-for-all nexus place to just ...play. Dabble.

[She takes out a pen and paper and starts going over it.]

Oh yes, she has approached these "dressing-rooms." And she's looked at one of the nexus places, but she's a bit confused about how they work here. Maybe it's the lack of volume of traffic, but she's used to things moving much more quickly.

Oh, but visiting around and talking to all the new people you meet are part of the fun! I'm Aerith, by the way. Would you like a cupcake?

I believe there's a Nexus around here somewhere that could use a little funning-up. You can't miss it. There's a big couch I'm starting to think is actually somewhat sentient.

[She smiles.]

Thank you, Aerith. I'm Elphaba, I come from........ Oz.

[Yes there was a long pause there, but she learned early on it was easier to just say Oz, rather than all the other places that are contained in Oz. She accepts the proffered cupcake and smiles a bit more broadly.]

A little sugar never hurts and quite often helps.

[She smiles wistfully at the 'sentient couch' comment]

Sentient couch? Anything like Flying Monkeys?

[Not that she was much good at magic, but she wonders if she would have any ability here.]

I'm from Midgar, originally. It's a rather long story.

I don't think it's like Flying Monkeys, though I'll admit that sounds interesting. It's more like.. a little alive. And sort of amused by everything. But it tends not to exceed the normal spectrum of couch-like behavior aside from the color changing and such.

I met a Police Box in the other place that was certianly sentient. And bigger on the inside. It was quite interesting. And no magic was involved.

Midgar? I've never heard of it. Where is it located?

That does sound fascinating. I could use something like that. I always end up with more odds and ends than I know what to do with.

Midgar's part of a planet called Gaia. It's not there anymore.. it got destroyed when someone tried to kill the planet.

[Elphaba is horrified at that thought.]

Oh! I am sorry to hear that. Is there... Is there anything I can do?

It's all right now. The day was saved and all, and the people decided to build a new city.. it's called Edge, I think. Strangely enough, with the whole world in the balance, losing Midgar doesn't seem to large.

[She sighs lightly, thinking back to her early years in Munchkinland.]

Still, it must be difficult to loos your home.

It's not been easy... It helps that the people I love are all right. People are what makes a home, after all.

[She nods a bit sadly.]

Of course they are...

[Never mind that she's been living in a Castle with a family that isn't her family and a herd of Flying Monkeys.]

**Aerith finally blinks and tilts her head a little.**

Would you like to talk about it?

[She shrugs.]

No... Thank you, though. I'm just a bit out of sorts. Happens each time my mun tosses me somewhere new.

Well, I'm up for listening if you change your mind. And if you need somewhere to hang your hat for a while, I believe there are still lots of cupcakes in the Nexus.

Again, I thank you. I have looked over there. The couch does seem awfully inviting. Once I have my barrings about me, I will wander over there.
