and we're all caught up now, aren't we?
Come on, now. Perk up. Have some of that tea you bought, take a shower, hoover your floors, do the laundry, pet your cat. Or you could just go through the parts you like best again. It's like revisiting old friends. Don't give me that, you've got old friends scattered across your timeline like little bits of Christmas tree trimmings.
[The Doctor grins, spinning his sonic screwdriver around absently.]
But remember, clever girl, we're not quite done yet. November's around the corner and you've got loads to do. Besides, you haven't seen the best parts, I think you forgot a story or two of mine. The snowmen? How could you forget that? Or we could do it all again. Brand new me, little Amelia Pond, Rory with the nose, River, Clara, my impossible girl, all of them. That's the beauty of it, isn't it? I'm never really gone or about to be gone or half gone or not me. Just listen. It's time travel, the whole of time, a beginning, a rather long middle, but an end somewhere out there. We've all got one. So, go find a smile for me.
Riiight. See? All better. Pop off and have a watch, something good, that's it.
Oi, I'm not a long winded gas bag. Mind your insults.

I'm sorry about Narvin. The Doctor brings out his full snark.
[He peers at this regeneration that he's never met before.]
What in Rassilon's name did you do to your forehead? Not to mention your chin.
Still, I suppose it's not as bad as the one with hair like a bird nest and a smile so toothy it looked like you were straining krill.
And it doesn't phase the Doctor.
No one likes the chin. Well, I'm sorry, I had other things on my mind when regenerating.
Like not wanting to.Can't please anyone, these days. It's always, wrong hair, massive forehead, a chin what could poke an eye out-- You know, it never was my best, controlling regenerations....and I liked the hair. Teeth were a bit horsey, but useful. [He shakes his head and mutters under his breath.] Gas bag. Really. I'm not that bad.

[A faint, sad, slightly bitter smile. It's not just Oswin's mun who's not looking forward to it, but you won't catch her admitting it right away.]
no subject
And you really are fantastic, you know that?
no subject
And that makes her smile for real this time, even if she's not entirely certain of everything being fine.]
Always had a bit of an inkling, yeah. Little voice in the back of my head sort of thing. [Or a great big ego. Same difference.]
no subject
[He shakes his head, looks upward for a moment, and then that grin is back. Big egos -- like chins, them.]
Not a thing wrong with a healthy inkling.
no subject
Yeah, well. Nothing really ends 'round here, not really. [i.e. her life]
Guess we've got the muns to thank for that, if not much else. [She crinkles her nose.] Mind you, I'd like to not be stuck somewhere, but I'll settle for alive.
no subject
Well, we're always stuck somewhere. Different places, [He smiles wryly.] different times, different situations. But, yeah. Alive's good. I can settle for that myself. Stuck, though? Stuck's temporary bonus for good company if you are going to be stuck for a bit. Mind, you could always go somewhere voluntarily.

[ Heh. Heheh. Okay, but in all seriousness, she's about as scared and nervous for Christmas and November as the next person. Granted, there's bubbling excitement there, because she gets to see him again- be it a past version of her or a future; does it really matter? But her mun, just as she's sure many others are, is practically beside herself with anticipation, fear, adamant refusal, etc.. It's quite a pickled pretzel this fandom is putting themselves into. ]

And how are you, Rose? Getting on alright, then?
no subject
[ Of course she's teasing. Of course she knows just how much his words mean when he says them. And how much one should ignore, too. ]
Oh you know, muckin' about with a few gods, helping restore a world of it's colour, keepin' tabs on you lot. [ Which is all true. ] Just happen to be takin' a bit of a break right now.
And you? Still getting into trouble, I hope?
no subject
[He shakes his head a little.]
Messing with gods, are you? That does sound about right. Brilliant as ever.

How's-- Clara. Oswin? Met her a few times; she's quite attached to you. She's gonna be around, isn't she? [ For the Big Change. He isn't going to be alone, is he? ]
no subject
[He lets out a breath then. Clara. Yeah.]
Hope so. And she's-- Well. Complicated. I suppose we all are right now. [He waggles his fingers.] We'll be fine. Always are. [Eventually.]
And here's where I wish I'd heard more of the Gallifrey audios.
no subject
...Will you really, though? Cause-- you know. [ How he gets. ]
no subject
Leela!
I've been meaning to get to them. I've liked most of the Big Finish audios I've heard.
