On his newly completed personality section.
It's finally done, is it? I hope you are satisfied with the work.
[It did take long enough, after all.]
It's good that you finally put words to... that.
[That pertaining to the unfortunate turn of events residing beyond the spoilers warning in the section.]
I am grateful at least that the whole of my life and motivations until then will not be overlooked.

You must be quite proud of such progress. It isn't every writer that would take the time to put such effort into a personality section.

It is long, isn't it. But I suppose my life is long as well.

Still, she can't help but smile to hear the comment about his life.]
A fact for which I am endlessly thankful. ♥
I only hope that I'll be able to make it to your age.
[Integra, who are you kidding? You'll probably live to be 600 through sheer force of will.]

[He absolutely believes this, though she might need encouragement to cut down on the cigars a bit as she gets on in years. This old man knows about vampires and smoking habits. He's been there.]

Haha. Well, I certainly do thank you for having faith in my tenacity. Though I should admit that eating well does get a bit tricky with all that Seras and I have to do. Even though it's been over a decade, it's still more than a little difficult for us to find soldiers, much less train them. Seras and I end up taking on a lot of the job ourselves. It isn't as stressful as it used to be, for the simple fact that we've hunted down most of the "surviving" undead, but it still makes finding a routine something of a problem.
Besides, you know me -- late nights reading up on everything under the sun. Especially since we started renovating. You wouldn't believe the security we have now, and those user manuals are monsters unto themselves.

I am glad that you are managing, and that Miss Seras has finally managed to find her feet... [Because he remembers watching her attempt to train the Wild Geese in long-distance combat. It did not go well. He was honestly worried for their future, then... just as he is currently worried about his lady and her skirting around the issue of proper nutrition.]
But do remember, my lady, that you are human, and that humans require sustenance to keep up their strength.
[They don't have easy ways of staving off the weakness brought by hunger that vampires do. A coffin filled with the soil in which they were born is more apt to give them a backache in the morning.]

No regrets, now. Butler.
Not only does a Major show, but the cocoa turns up, too! I can't wait to see my Integra's reaction!
I do not recall seeking your advice.
[Fatty, some younger part of his consciousness mentally adds, the young fifteen-year-old who fought in Warsaw never having completely gone even if his body had grown old. The youth and all his anger and violence are still there, like a whisper in the back of his mind.]
Oh, I can only assume "pissed off".
Not now, yes. But you did, once, so long ago, when you laid bare that secret desire hidden from your master, privy only to me and... well, Dok, of course.
[His eyes clench and narrow.]
Those were really the days, weren't they? Butler.
To put it mildly.
[And the only reason Walter regrets to inform him of this at all is because it is, to his great misfortune, his future. In canon, at least.]
[OOC: Note of importance here; I’m not one of the people that ascribe to the traitor-since-1944 theory. I’ve poked way too many holes in it for it to hold water for me as a manga-version player. Alas, I have to go to sleep now, so explanations will have to wait if you’re interested in them.]
Re: To put it mildly.
So it has yet to happen yet. Haha, well, I'm not much for reruns normally, but a do-over suits me just fine. After all, Alucard yet lives.
... In a manner of speaking.
/c h o k e s
heimlich maneuver?
I feel like there's a joke there.
I am forever scarred. FOREVER SCARRED.
PFFFF.
Damn it. For some reason my last comment forced me to use the default icon.

because I have no life and I'm bored enough to go on random research sprees.][One man's rerun is another man's spoiler, and this particular spoiler leaves a bad taste in Walter's mouth. It gives a whole new definition to the word, really.]
Enemy after enemy has imagined themselves the victor against him, only for him to rise again before their very eyes. What makes you think you are any different?
Sorry for the wait! Got caught up in my webcomic's launch, haha.
Because. I am the man that won.
[Stretching both of his arms out, he gives an arrogant grin.]
This is no imagination. All this planning from fifty years has gone according to plan and most predictably, and therefore somewhat irritably, Alucard has been defeated. By my hands. By human hands.
No problem! I sometimes take a while to reply, too.
because let's face it, Hirano burned out towards the end, but I've transcribed it to my journal behind a lock for reference purposes, because in the end I really do want to know the truth. As much as it might hurt. ;; ]As I understand it, your victory will end up being more temporary than planned.
[And although his emotions regarding Alucard are somewhat conflicted-- and have been for some time-- somehow that knowledge is almost easing for him. Whatever he may end up doing in his canon future, whatever horrible mistake he might end up making, he will never hold any love for the Nazis. A wrench in their plans is more than welcome, regardless of how belated might be.]

Nonsense. I've had my war and it was a very good war.
[The memories of what had happened comfort him. His death couldn't matter any less.]
If only you had seen it too. If only you had heard it. Those "millions of voices suddenly crying out" being silenced.
no subject
Unfortunately it appears I will hear them in time.
[Clearly he does not share the Major's gladness over it.]
A pity death is not permanent here. I seem to vaguely recall a threat I never had the pleasure of carrying out.
Haha, her internal dialogue is currently being narrated by Jan Valentine.
It has been 14 years since Integra last heard that voice, and it's still enough to render her speechless with rage. Of course, it's the way he addresses Walter that so precisely strikes a nerve that she finds herself all but winded by the torrent of emotions that crash just beneath the surface.
There is a marked change in her demeanor as she turns to face the Major, taking a few steps in front of Walter to do so. The relaxed body language she had possessed moments earlier is gone, replaced by a rigid stance worthy of a commander.]
His name is Walter.
[There is a hollow, hateful chill in the warning of her tone. She's still plagued that she hadn't been able to save the man that raised her from his horrible fate at the hands of Millennium. It's a mistake that she doesn't intend to make twice.]
I'll thank you to address him as such.
Nice to see Jan finding work.
friendship.
Well, he knew for certain that they were enemies, but Integra is one that the Major approves of as his enemy. He feels nothing but happiness in stark contrast to the hate that Integra must feel.]
Are you sure? If I remember correctly, he resigned of his own will and placed on his hat the deathman's head. Seeing as postmortem doesn't apply here, he is still, oh yes.
My very own personal butler.
