Have this genocidal dad on the house
Ahh, it feels so good to be able to stretch my legs again. We must learn to appreciate the simpler things in life, my dear boy. Of course, it would truly be simple if that was all it took to placate strife. That is simply not the case, alas, but we must take care in remembering our virtues.
Speaking of virtue, it was your intention to select me as your muse for the explicit reason that I lack virtue... Like some of your other all-star cast members like the faceless terror claiming dark divinity penned by an author of feverish brilliance or the rubenesque chap from the Third Reich with the fascination for the warring undead.
A lesser man of faith would have been offended, to be associated with such... villains. Everything I do is for the sake of preventing further tragedies. That, and correcting the path that my blessed daughter, dear, sweet Cereza, has chosen for herself. There is so much she is capable of... if only she could see what father sees. Hmhm.
May Jubileus, the Creator, grace you.

Children are tricky things, though, I have no advice there. Unless you want to sacrifice her, I see no point to them.

If I may shed some light, hmhm... The point... dear, let's choose a better word. The "purpose" of children is for them to realize purpose, whether it is to follow the light or to follow the dark.
My dear fellow... you have not had a friendly childhood yourself, have you?

[He dismisses that as a boring fact.]
Light and Dark are no purposes. They just are. Child may be of one or both.
They are old and they will both claim plenty children. One more matters not.

[No question there. Just more condescension.]
There is much that could surprise you, even for an elder like yourself. Should fate smile down on an individual, well. You realize we live in a time when a single person, if he should be so lucky, can destroy the world with a flick of a wrist and a switch.

[His tone is darker now. His mood begins to grow foul.]
Now, this age is different but people are same. Even marvels of new age won't last and people will move on to next shiny thing.

[Forgotten gods. Yes, there are quite a number of those. Beyond the conflict between Inferno and Paradiso, there were other numbers of gods and idols worshiped by people. They were difficult to align, though many have intentionally sided with darkness. Others simply have nothing to do with the conflict. They weren't terribly high on Balder's list of priorities, though he was aware of their existence.]
To think the first person that I meet in this place would be a deity. Goodness, this is quite an honor. Just what are you the god of, exactly? Perhaps I would remember you.

I am Czernobog. God of another age.

[Balder places a hand on his chest.]
Then please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Balder, a worshiper of the Creator, Jubileus. I am pleased to make your acquaintance in friendlier circumstances.

[Religious fanatic? Probably, but she looks more like a witch than not. Balder gives an airy smile.]
There are matters in the world beyond material comprehension that we must press greater priority on. Soul is such a curious word. Why do you value that which resides within over all else, dear girl?

Though people believe in their God, they can no longer avoid tragedy. Do you not think this to be sad?
Her world is pretty terrible okay
hahaha so's Balder's, kinda. Well, he makes it terrible.
[The father's smile does not waver. In fact, it seemed to have stretched just a little. Balder starts toying with the stuffed peacock around his neck.]
My, myyy. Is there simply no room for levity in that melancholy philosophy of yours? After death, there is rebirth, and beyond rebirth is an opportunity for a cosmic resurrection.
That is the goal I strive for with the resurrection of the Creator, Jubileus.
