I'm not sure yet. Seeing the world, maybe. [ A beat, then she allows: ] Or saving it.

Saving the world, [ he repeats, and one gets the impression that, were he talking to anybody else, the words would sound sarcastic. ]

That's quite magnanimous of you.

[ She huffs out a laugh; small, quiet, bare. ]

I keep getting roped into it, if you'd believe that.

[ Gently: ] I have heard tales of dragons, of women and men being brought back from the dead — I'm rather inclined to believe what you tell me.

[ That, in turn, makes Natasha smile again. ]

Not many people would believe me that easily.

I'm a soft touch.

[ Or rather, they lie to other people and to themselves with every breath, and in that recognition, there is a special; it's mutual recognition of the fact that affords them some semblance of honesty or trust. ]

[ Her mouth pitches. (Takes one to know one.) ]

Where are you headed? Back to dragons, stories of old?

[ Petyr sighs at that particular question, the line of his shoulders smoothing out as the breath leaves his mouth. ]

I've very little notion, [ he confesses, in the sort of tone that suggests he isn't entirely happy with how powerless he is in the matter.

Then, in a somewhat more amused voice: ] Though I will remind you that what you consider to be stories of old are hardly old to me.

You know, I'm usually the one saying that line.

[ Still, it's part-joke and part thought-out-loud. Nothing nearly so substantial. ]

When you figure it out, let me know. I'm due for a vacation.

A joint vacation, then? That does make the prospect more appealing.
