But, he's going to close his eyes and give a long sigh, one that makes his shoulders rise and fall. If it comes to it, he'll take every advantage he has...even if he's going to miss the weight of his knives, for a while.]

[ Something rumbles in the back of his throat - a growl, maybe, or just a contemplative noise. It's hard to tell. ]

When he opens his eyes again it's just a steady gaze that falls on Cain, kinda bored looking and not really revealing much. Then he draws a short line across his throat, swift and decisive like a cut, and shrugs again. Cain can take what he wants from that; make his own assumptions or ask more, whatever he feels like.

Deimos is still blaming him, anyway.]

Gotta keep an eye out for the quiet ones. [ He smirks, almost like he's proud of whatever it is that Deimos did. ]

[If you say so; technically he hasn't done it yet, so fuck all of this. If Cain's confident that the shit's not gonna hit the fan (or at least that he'll be fine when it does), though, that brings him a bit of comfort. Enough that he makes a small, contented hum of agreement in the back of his throat - barely audible, if that.

He's got more than a little bite, himself. But all the same he thinks that if he's stuck there, Cain should be too. Selfish thought.]

[ Cain is fairly confident Deimos can handle himself when it comes down to it. Not as well as most fighters, probably, but he's capable. He has to be, Cain can't come save his ass every two seconds. ]

[And somehow part of that catches him by surprise even though he swears he saw it coming. So maybe he doesn't back out of the way quite fast enough to completely ignore the push, but it doesn't throw him off either.

...Giving Cain something of a decent answer is probably a better idea than nothing right now, anyway. Even though putting it to voice (even one as broken as his) makes everything behind it that much more substantial than a few vague gestures.]
