If there was ever one who could reach him, I believe it could be you. He spoke fondly of you and Master Riou as brothers. He has done awful things, awful.

Don't you think that if it was possible to keep him from going down that path, I would have?

It's not even a matter of fate or whatever else Leknaat went on about. His mind... His bitterness was frigid. Even in what rare moments I could even see a hint of a smile in his eyes, most of what I saw in him was self-loathing and brewing hatred.

I just... I'm sorry.
