on a lighter note, a magical, death filled day *3x09 spoilers*
Scott won't mind. He wouldn't. He wanted me there. For her. Pretty sure watching her implies some interference.
I should have texted him.
But I was there. I couldn't just let her go, she had a knife. Like, a really big knife. And there was a table. And it was her dad. Scott won't even notice. It was for him anyways. It was all a massive favor.
It was a really, really big knife. She sticks those anywhere.
Shut up, shut up. I didn't, he won't.
We have bigger problems than the Argents and their table of lies, now. We can move on.

I took a really long time checking up on Allison.
And I didn't actually really check in.
And.
Yes. [ And he grabbed her boob when she dragged him through the window, but that wasn't the original premise of his concern.
He'll tack that on though.
Think more, I spent an obscene amount of time alone with your ex and I don't know why or how. And he couldn't stop, even when Scott was standing only yards away. ] Sorry.

[It might be a good idea to omit the part about the boob groping though.]

You could've needed me. [ It's comforting, and awesome, that Scott trusts him. Really, it is. It's like a goddamn ice cream sundae, and birthdays, and glitter.
But he's not feeling trustworthy, for some reason. His worth in regards to trust, he's questioning it. ] And she wanted me not to check in-- [ And maybe he should stop digging this ditch. ]
She's a little crazy, man. No offense.
Capable. But crazy.

[On Scott's list of priorities, that one's pretty high up there, and he wouldn't leave the task to just anyone.
Isaac's observation earns him a flash of a dopey, not-so-secretly-still-lovesick grin.]
Sometimes a little bit, maybe. I like to think of it more as being... intense. [Haha please don't let her hear that.] I could have told you she wouldn't really like being checked on, though. I should have, probably. [He manages to look a bit sheepish about it.] Sorry.
no subject
[ Oh lawdy, that lovesick grin.
He just won't look at her. Ever. He'll just. Write revealing biographies about the ceiling when she's there. It'll be super. And these twisty, bad feelings that are directing his feet and his senses without consulting him will go away. Team Scott. Team Scott.
Jesus, their taste in women. ]
She was ready to fistfight the Darach. I mean, she thought it was her dad. But.
Anyways.
I'm still here for you, whatever you and Derek need. I'll get better at this.
no subject
Uh. Yeah. So moving on.] Dude... Why did she think it was her dad? Because of the map thingy he has?
[Really, Isaac is lucky that Scott is so dense and doesn't actually realise what is going on here. He looks a bit taken aback by that last bit, actually.]
Do you seriously think I'm any better at this than you are? I just---people keep dying. And I can't get to them in time to do anything about it. None of us can.

It was a pretty convincing map, Scott. And he had a table. Like. A seriously questionable choice in tables. That's where we got the whole virgins, philosophers, guardians--yeah. It was on the table.
I'm still--not entirely clear on that table.
But Allison was all over it. I thought we should hang back, and she was all, let's stab my dad, and.
We found Mr. Westover. [ We call this a linear interpretation by a Lahey. ]

[It's just frustrating to him, that everyone seems to be on the same side and wants basically the same thing here (not including Deucalion's pack or the Darach ofc); but nobody is willing to have faith in other people.
kind of hypocritical but yeah there it is]Er... yeah, you did. He was alive, right?
[Okay and maybe Scott found Doc, too, so they're not 100% hopeless... but they've still got a losing record here.]
no subject
But we almost stopped it. It was right there.
We almost made it, Scott. We're close. [ The finest logic for miles. We're 99% close to not deadness! ] We have the currents. And Lydia, that apparently screams when stuff happens. [ Are you feeling better, Scott. ]
Which I don't really get.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry this is hard. [ He trusts you, Scott. If you lose faith in this, he'll flush his high hopes right along with yours. ]
no subject
I guess you did, almost? [No, not really?] Bullets and claws don't work on it though? [It is a statement, but he sounds unsure of what he is stating? What is he even doing.] It's like how we heal, most of the time. Until something like wolfsbane stops us. So maybe we need to find wolfsbane for a Darach?
[Are you feeling any better, Isaac??] I don't get Lydia either, but maybe Doc will? He knows about this stuff, so maybe he knows about like...... uh. What a banshee even is.
[Scott is frustrated, but he will never give up the fight. Not until he's broken and bleeding and can't control his own body.] No... It's okay. We'll figure something out. We have to.
no subject
Well, the bloodshed is taking his mind off of his persistent best friend's girl guilt, but yeah, yeah. He's super. ]
So, we go to your boss, for that too. Wouldn't he have said if he knows a weakness for it, though? Who would keep that a secret, now? [ An asshole druidic veterinarian, that's who.
In Isaac's mind. ] Did the bestiary do Darachs?
I don't know how you keep up with this. [ The fact you have that brand of perseverance, that you embrace it. That you care. You'll have at least one freeloading werewolf to call your own, man.
Bro fistbump.]Come to think of it, I'm not really clear on how this town survived before you, and Derek, and--whatever.
umm, can I just say that your Isaac is adorable
Dr Deaton keeps a lot of stuff to himself, but I think he'd tell me if he knew how to take care of the Darach. She almost killed him, so it's not like he wouldn't want us to be able to get rid of her.
[And then, his interest is piqued unexpectedly. Insert puppy-like headtilt.] The bestiary? I don't know. I never read anything out of it other than what Allison had about the kanima. It's all in like.. Latin or French or something. [It's something to consider, but unfortunately that kind of thing is up to the writers so who even freaking knows.
Wow he does not even mind having Isaac around his house. Isaac is just generally nice, which is important to Scott because his mom raised him that way. And he trusts him. And having someone else around to help protect his mom is great. Freeload all you want bro.]
I don't know... I mean, I haven't even known about any of this stuff for more than a year. And I don't know about the Darach, but Deucalion has probably been around Beacon Hills before.
awww, thank you. shoutout to scott bromance!
It's the trust, he stays for. The trust, and the kindness, and the new found itch when he strays too far from people who want him there. He likes Scott's mom, too. He has yet to have one cup thrown at him, it's like a fiesta. ]
I feel like we should've noticed. [ Hm. ] Howling. Or something.
I dunno.
So. Derek's sister. [ Yeah. ] What's up with that? [ The last time they encountered a non-healing wolf wound, Scott, you were passed out in a restroom and Isaac had to beat the shit out of someone.
He is not clear on whose ass to kick here. ] I've been trying to give him, like, a pee break. But the guy just keeps holding it. And I'm kind of freaked out it might be contagious.

What would Scott okay him saying? She knows, but does she know about Allison? There's a give me a solid moment to reconfigure here face. ]
Nobody.
Was sticking knives. Anywhere? [ Nope. ]
I did a favor for Scott. [ Yes. ] And. I tried. To protect Allison. And it took longer than I thought it would.
And he could've needed me, so I'm. I'm a really bad friend.
no subject
She gives him a skeptical mom face.]
You just said that somebody had a really, really big knife.
[As much as she doesn't want to think about these things sometimes, she feels better knowing where her son is and what he's getting up to. And now that Isaac is living under her roof, she feels some responsibility for him, too.]
If you were doing him a favour, how does that make you a bad friend?
no subject
Mun thinks Isaac thinks that Allison is super fine, and he's eating his feelings. Isaac thinks that he's just desperate and has no priorities. Good friends have good priorities. The skeptical face, though, gives him a little jolt of a cold sweat. Don't lie.
He battles with this for a few moments, then, ]
Can I ask you something? [ Isaac likes you, McCall's mom. You let him eat tacos at your house, and you're predictable. And when you're not, it's good. It's like this crazy awesome gig that Scott's got.
So he thinks, maybe, being trustworthy might be a McCall thing. ] Not about the knife.
no subject
Melissa doesn't know you all that well, Isaac, but Scott seems to have taken you under his wing (or into his pack. is that the right term? she's still new to this.) As a nurse in the ER, she has also seen the worst of what can happen to kids left on the street, so yes, she will give you tacos and a place to stay for as long as you need.]
Of course. [She smiles encouragingly.]
