Really, why are you even bothering? This isn't going to amount to anything. You're just wasting our time - mainly mine.
Why don't you stop stalling, leave me in peace for once, and go be a jittery mess elsewhere, hm?

It is not wise to be so quick with predictions. I believe mine may have made my mundane hang on longer out of spite.
Though I could easily be wrong. I do not understand what motivates mundanes.
no subject
I just wish she'd stop flip-flopping on me and make a concrete decision already. I suppose this is some kind of start, though.
no subject
You are very insistent for a robot.
no subject
You think I'm kidding, but I'm not.
no subject
I do not see how that could be anything but obstructive to your superior.
[All robots have got to have superiors. Obviously.]
no subject
[Independent robot enjoys his independence, clearly.]
no subject
...
There must be something wrong with your programming.
no subject
Not at all.~ In fact, the best thing I could possibly do for my objective is to leave that buffoon behind. His fault if he didn't have the foresight to prevent that sort of thing in the first place.
no subject
...
You have a conflicting objective? [Because if that's the reason then it's a sloppy programmer's fault. For shame, programmer.]
no subject
My objective is what it was when I came into being. I just decided that the best way to accomplish it would be to work on my own.
no subject
[Either way he wouldn't be able to disobey without glitching, though, it's how he's programmed. He just prefers to think of it this way, it leaves him happier.]
That is what I meant. Your objective conflicting with serving your superior directly. [No Commander don't use that 'duh, robot' tone he's just going to be more sarcastic at you -]
no subject
[Snoot snoot smug ha ha you're pathetic.]
And because I possess free will (and probably also because of an unfortunate programming oversight), I don't have to answer to anyone who claims to be my master, or superior, or boss, or whatever. It's a pretty sweet deal.
no subject
...
Why so? [He doesn't understand why people seem to value freedom so much either. Maybe it is because he's programmed to do so, but he still enjoys working for Master Porky. Small, bemusing, occasional rebellious bit aside.] ...I thought valuing free will was a biological trait. [Robot, you make no sense. Wait. Maybe that's it.] Are you perhaps a human in a metal suit, pretending to be a robot?
no subject
[A scoff, as if offended.] Please. Many machines where I'm from are as intelligent and free-willed as I am. There are still mindless drones, of course, but I'm definitely not the first to rebel against my creator.
no subject
[More contempt, though not aimed specifically at the robot this time.] If it's such a widespread glitch, then I am not very impressed by the programmers you have.
no subject
[Pretty huge oversight, Zurg. Oh well. Worked out for NOS, anyway.]
It's not a glitch. I'm programmed this way, for the most part, as are a lot of others. Machines in my home universe are equivalent to human beings. Most of the time.
[Robot... discrimination, as it were, didn't bother him very much unless it was happening to him personally.]
no subject
You are a mistake, then. That explains it.
[Oh. Well, that's... just plain weird. Even chimeras aren't programmed to exist with a purpose they make for themselves or without a purpose at all, and chimeras are far more advanced than robots. He's not sure he'd call it free will entirely, since he's capable of thinking and making decisions for himself, just in the end they're meant to benefit a superior's purpose.]
...
Your world makes no sense.
no subject
[He's amused again. Of course the poor little drone wouldn't understand.]
Are you sure you're not a robot yourself? You behave a lot like the more early, primitive ones. No actual mind of their own to speak of, yes master this, of course master that. I could probably fall asleep just talking to you.
[Exaggerated yawn, opening mouth wide, lifting a hand in front of it. You are boring, sir.]
no subject
I am a chimera, not a robot. Robots are far less advanced.
If I were mindless, I would not be able to argue a point with you right now. I would only be able to repeat pre-programmed phrases. I simply don't see a reason to disobey Master Porky just for the sake of disobedience that will not make me happy in any way.
[He's fine with being boring, being interesting isn't something he particularly tries to aim for. He sometimes likes showing off for approval, but specifically aiming to be interesting isn't a priority.]
no subject
[Adamant robot. But then, that's a feature, remember. If you can rightly claim that nobody's the boss of you, then why should you consider yourself inferior to anybody?]
"A fire-breathing female monster with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail." Huh. Well you can be whatever you want to on the inside, I guess.[Have some more snark. You probably didn't want any but take it anyway. Take it all.]
Anyway, subverting my creator in any way is quite gratifying, because it only cements the fact that he'll never get me back and he knows it. It's far too satisfying to rub it in his face at every given opportunity.
no subject
...
Well, your database has the archaic definition, at least. You might want to look into updating it. [This is his version of being annoyed - not actually volunteering any more of the correct information himself. Data is an important thing.]
...
That still explains nothing about what you gain from disobedience.
no subject
I enjoy not answering to anybody but myself, being my own person, and not being treated like an object or a drone. Obviously you wouldn't understand, but it's a lovely feeling.
no subject
You are correct. Derogatory phrasing aside, I do not understand. Obviously you were programmed differently. [And in his opinion, incorrectly.]
[This is going nowhere, and he feels like he isn't going to understand no matter how long it's talked about. He sometimes feels as though he might disagree with Master Porky, sometimes might want to do something about it (and end up not), but he'd never actually enjoy disobeying him.]
[He abruptly turns around, intending to leave unless the (really weird) robot has something else to say.]
no subject
[Yeah, you walk away, mister I Clearly Lost This Argument. Really weird robot is pretty okay with this result.]

I'm a riot. Really. You wouldn't believe how much people love being subjected to random blackouts on a regular basis.
no subject
You mean people who aren't afraid of the dark? Or was that sarcasm?
no subject
I don't believe people normally relish losing their precious air conditioning in upwards of one hundred degree weather for hours, actually.
[Sarcasm. Though now there's a little undertone that just screams no remorse.]
no subject
no subject
That's almost a refreshing reaction, actually. I mean -
Organics are very fond of complaining and threatening without actually doing anything, I noticed. It makes what I do very easy, sometimes.
no subject
Oh, you don't have to worry about empty threats from me. Or at least...not with you. What I'd do to you would be very easy itself.
no subject
You could certainly try. Nobody back home managed it with me. But then, I'm not a practically immobile, sentient vending machine.
[Not that that was an invitation or anything. He's not using the blatantly amused at your expense tone at the moment.]
no subject
I won't try it if you're not doing anything to inconvience me now. And back home, they probably spent too much time situating their asses in one place. Or even if not, they didn't have the right gear and wear.
no subject
Naturally. It's an exercise in futility to expect intelligence from humans as they seem to be completely foolish by nature. Why, an extended power outage can be downright deadly this time of year if you happen to be unprepared. Now isn't that just unfortunate?
[A machine had its own problems with overbearing heat, but boy did Zurg know how to build an internal cooling system.]
no subject
no subject
I guess? Ehh, why do you ask...?
