((OOC: so yeah this is an AU Harley Quinn, 98% inspired by the Nolan movies. Same basic story: smart young psychiatrist working at Arkham gets assigned to the Joker and things go downhill from there. She's not as bubbly, though.))

Boo. Hoo. [He traces the trail of a tear down his cheek, smearing his makeup in the process with a long, black smudge.]

She's got a point, y'know. [He clicks his tongue.] It's a big, scary world out there, isn't it? Full of strangers and creeps and---and lunatics. Know what I say to all that?

[Oh hey, that's a switchblade in his hand.]

[She doesn't even flinch when the knife comes out. She might have at first but she learned not to long ago. She just grins.]

Best medicine there is.

[Have a pat on the cheek. Well... something halfway between a pat and a smack.]

[She smiles. Positive attention is so nice when it happens.]

[He does love a good smile. He turns away from her and begins walking slowly, his arms outstretched to the sides almost like a T. As if performing some kind of balancing act atop a very, very high tightrope.]

You've still got a lot to learn. [He tosses her a teasing glance over his shoulder.] I'm a tough act to follow.

That would imply I'm trying to top it.

Which I'm not.

[He smirks, continuing forward in the same manner. The knife slides along his hand, dancing between his fingers.]

[She just watches, smiling. She's got her bat, she nearly always does, but she's letting it hang casually by her side.]

Hmm... [He clucks his tongue along the inside of his mouth, making an obnoxious sort of ticking noise.]

Boooooring.

[Then he stops in his tracks, seemingly at the end of this line. Sick of the balancing act already. He'd much rather fall. The Joker whips around to face Harley, trenchcoat flaring behind him.]

Let's try somethin' else. Whaddaya say, pooh?

[The pet name, like always, is spoken in an ironic drawl.]
