[Max ignores Ariel's hushing and barks again before happily licking her face.]

[Max nods, gives Ariel's cheek another lick, then bounds away. Ariel can get a glimpse of Eric turning up in the distance. He pets Max fondly when the dog runs up to him.]

[She can't bear to look at him, then giving in, she turns to peek out from behind the rock as she bites her lips. If only she could just run up to him and run away...
