Padmé? Is it really you? [He looks on in disbelief for a moment, but then her words pierce through the happy fog of looking upon the woman he loved and he gets both curious and a little annoyed.]

What crimes? What would you judge me for?

[She smiles, though it cannot reach her eyes. The pain is too fresh to bear seeing him like this.]

[Her hands remain at her side. There's no want to touch him, though she wants to comfort him. She loves him too much to stand idly by though.]

[His touch makes her stiffen, as much as she wants to be in his arm.] There are things you do not know.

[Her head dips to the side, away from him to pull away.]

[He is trembling and looks like she cut him with the expression on his face.]

What could I have done to make you flinch from me like this? I would never hurt you Padmé, I love you too much to ever hurt you.

I do not doubt that. [But it will change. Her hand moves to touch him, but stops before she can reach his face. She cares, and she will always love him, but she cannot help fearing the man he may soon become.]

Then speak to me in words that make sense! [He moves back because he threw his hands in the air and he did not want to clip her, also being this close to her and having her shy away from him was so frustrating and heartbreaking.]

What do you mean if we did not, I- [He pauses, something he heard since his recent arrival pops in to his mind. People can come from different times and places, could they come from the grave as well?]

[This is why she did not want to tell him, did not want to have to go through this. She cannot bare the pain in his eyes and the way his voice drops. It's too much for her. Her hand touches his arm.]

[His voice had cracked completely, the pain wracking his whole body and it showed. He fell to his knees, staring at the floor, unable to look at the face of the woman he had condemned to death through his love and his inability to prevent her pain.]

[She kneels down and presses his body to her chest, wanting to take away his pain. There are no words. For all that he has done and possibly will do, this is what she did not want. Her fingers curl into the fabric of his shirt and she holds onto him, wishing she could say something to change this, to change all of it.

[The feel of her against him meant everything, even if he could not save her in the Republic, she was at least here with him in the strange country whose heat and sand was so like his home planet of Tatooine. He all but collapses on her, clutching her to him with everything he has.

It is probably a good thing his powers were limited or a good many things would have smashed around him at her news.]
