[Nina's never seen a wolf as spectacular as this one before.

Admittedly she's hesitant because oh my god possible genic, which are pretty dangerous where she's from and she's by herself, but she can't help but stare.]

[He relaxes his guard and turns to look at her. While he is rather large, there is no threat in his stance.]

[And yet despite his relaxed stance, she's still really anxious, moreso because he has acknowledged her and it's very evident in her expression.

Nina here just so happens to be very timid, and on top of that, mentally scarred to the point she's afraid of anything unknown.]

Un..

[He keeps his distance, knowing that he can be intimidating. It becomes useful when he is facing an enemy, but this is a small girl child. She seems to need a friend.

Smiling, he perks his ears and tilts his head.]

[Oh, it seems...okay, maybe.

In her world, when her friend Ryu fights monsters, sometimes he lures them away or distracts them with food. But if they go for it, they must like it, right?

So as a gesture of goodwill between them, she rummages through what little possessions she has on her and holds out a piece of meat, still on the bone, wiggling it a little towards him.]

Unn.

[Though if she knew exactly what he was she'd be worried this is demeaning or insulting...or something.]

[Shiranui wags his tail briefly before approaching her. Instead of taking the meat, however, he licks her hand and pushes the meat towards her. She needs the food far more than he does, but he appreciates the offer.]

[Oh, geez, that is just both overwhelmingly nice and overwhelmingly cute. She'll smile a little at his reaction and put away the food.]

Unn!

[Hm...what to do now though, she wonders? She's never gotten this close to a wolf that didn't attack her.

She reaches out a hand to him, hesitantly, to gently stroke his muzzle.]

[Shiranui is a god (or celestial being) in a wolf's body. He doesn't purely act on instinct like other wolves, but, like his more common brethren, he is quite scary when he's angry. However, there's no way someone like Nina could anger him. She has a good heart and he feels paternal towards her.

He closes his eyes under the stroking, his ears relaxing until they appear almost floppy.]

[If only she could tell, she might be a bit more relaxed. Or maybe all the more hesitant, because if he's important she'd feel the need to be respectful.

In any case, still believing him to be a regular, if spectacular looking, wolf, she'll giggle a little once she sees he likes it.

She moves her hand to Shiranui's head, and begins petting him.]

[...she doesn't understand.]

[Why are you confused? He gazes at her fixedly.]

[Why is she confused? Should she not be?

She moves forward, putting her paw out as though to push against his nose, to see if he's really there. He has to be, doesn't he? But this, this...this makes no sense.

How is this possible?]

[She definitely has a point, but he didn't choose to be here. He doesn't even know where here might be. All he knows is that he is glad to see her.

Closing his eyes, he releases something like a short chuckle.

Yes, he's real. How are you doing?]

[He's real. She can feel it. Beneath her padded paw is a cold, dark nose.

Instead of saying anything back, however, he who was once stone will find himself pounced upon so lovingly, so excitedly, like welcoming back a long lost family member.]

[Said nose wiggles under the warmth of her paw and he gazes at her questioningly. Was she worried he was trying to trick her?

The pounce puts that worry to rest, however. Beaming, he nuzzles their cheeks together and closes his eyes. He will never admit it, but sometimes he gets lonely.]

Heart-breaking. :(

[It's hard out there for a god, shh, she knows, she knows.

It is you! comes her voice, so pleased and relieved at the same time. Her tail wags quickly as she shows as much affection as she can, tugging an ear softly, chewing, etc.]

[She is one of the few that would know. His tongue lolls ever so slightly when he hears her.]

I did not think I would find you here.

[But he's obviously glad that he did. He playfully nips at the ruff of fur around her neck.]

[She's tempted to push that tongue around with her paw.

You are only the second from our world. The man of the Moon Tribe, Waka, is one I have seen.

No Ishaku or Issun, though. Where are the Envoys!?]

[Only if she wants her toes nipped too.]

There was another. She told me about them.

[He doesn't have any answers.]

[She stops, perking up and staring at him inquisitively.

What was her name?

Swish swish goes her tail, thumping right into him heavily. Like she doesn't realize it.]

[Make no mistake, his tail is swishing just as much as hers. Which is probably why her tail goes unnoticed.]

I don't know. She brought me here.

[OMG LET HER THUMP HARDEST! Stop one-upping!

You mean your mundane? because that's all she can make out of it.]

[Okay fine! He glances back at her tail and smiles to himself. Stop being cute, Ammy.]

Yes. That's the word she used. I didn't understand it.

[NO NEVER. This is your future, Shiranui, drink it in.

Ah, I understand. I have not been around very long myself, but that seems to be what they call themselves. Writer, as well.

Ahhhh, she's going to lick all over his face, okay, Mother is so happy right now.]

[He's very happy with his future. She is everything (and more) that he had imagined.]

Is that how they created this realm?

[Tipping his head back, he sniffs the air. Only to be attacked with kisses. He closes his eyes and wags his tail harder, his happiness palpable as he accepts each and every lick.]

[If she could unhinge her jaw like a snake and eat him in admiration, she totally would. But that's more Orochi's realm, badum tish.

What, this place? There are many places. Games, they are called. Many others, boxes for musing...it is a vast realm.]

[But then she might cease to exist! And he can't have that. They're needed and loved by so many.]

Have you visited one of these "games"? [That worries him. Their existence is crucial. If they are throw into a haphazard world where they are injured, what would become of their world?

He nudges his forehead against hers, pushing their markings together. It's comforting knowing she's safe.]

[She'll push her forehead right back. He can have all of her forehead right now. Well, they're each other's forehead...they are...metaphysical paradox, really.

I have not, but the girl has been looking into them recently.

A heavy sigh, and she flops quite dramatically to the ground on one side. Cherry cakes would be amazing right about now.]

[…oh. oh, well, this is a surprise.

approaching and sniffing at him, ears perked.]

Shiranui just has so much more awesome markings, seriously. They're all so fun!
