I am you, simply without the years of experience and--one hopes--wisdom that you presumably picked up over the decades. Why would you wish to keep things from yourself?

At what point? I've been offered the job, but I certainly have no urges to begin growing out a beard. [ .. yeah, he's already had his falling out with gellert. it's probably why he looks so thin and exhausted. ]

I had a beautiful auburn beard while I taught Transfiguration. I cannot recall why I started to grow it. Perhaps I thought it made me look more dashing.

I expect not. I have lived a long life and I have met its end. I do not know what awaits me, but I do realize it is out of my hands.

It isn't my concern what most people do. I have lived a long life and now I am being offered a new journey. I wish to know on which road I will travel.

[It's one of those unquestionable things in his life. Gellert will forever remind him of his childhood dream that involved two brilliant minds and the conquering of the world.]
