My dearest mundane, perhaps you should consider the size of this so called "muselist" of yours before you get it into your head to add me to it. Though I am pleased that you have spent such lengths in doing so -- and I am rather fond of being called a "pretty lady" I must say!

Still, perhaps it is a good thing you have widened your sights and added more than dwarves to your ranks. May I perhaps convince you to add a hobbit or two? They are rather charming beings, truly! Even if my Tom has had to save them from Old Man Willow on occasions, but it never dims his joy and dinner guests are rare to come by and doubly blessed.

Now, if only we could speak about the lack of water-lilies......

[ Merry is very excited to see a friend, especially one that he had not seen for a very long time ]

I cannot speak for your mun, Mistress Goldberry, but I would welcome your company any time! Perhaps I may stay again with you and Master Tom? I would have much to speak of.

[ Fangorn, and ents, and just... Fangorn. He'd never thought the Old Forest would feel so much like home, until he'd stood under it's boughs again, after having drunken Ent-draught. ]

[If Merry is excited, Goldberry is doubly so. She claps her hands together and laughs like the sound of a babbling brook, well pleased.]

Why, Master Merry, 'tis been far too long since I've seen your face! Certainly Tom and I would be delighted to keep your company once more and hear of the tales you will spin for us!

[ Her laugh brings joy to Merry's own face, and he is happy to sit himself down and enjoy some company for the time being. He will definitely be spending much more time in the Old Forest than he used to. ]

Do you know the Ents, Mistress Goldberry? [ Perhaps a better question would be 'do you remember them?', because Merry has lots of questions to ask and stories to share. ] I have been to Fangorn, and met with Fangorn himself! And Bregalad! And Fangorn asked me of Fimbrethil and...

[ He's just- speechless with memories, and all the things he has to tell! ]

[Goldberry gladly shifts to give Merry room enough to get comfortable, crossing her legs and resting her elbows upon her knees. Her eyes are bright, attentive as he speaks.]

Ents! 'tis been a long time indeed since I've had news of them, and of Fangorn! Pray tell, how is he? [She waits though, watching the way Merry pauses, overwhelmed.] Perhaps, dearest Merry, it would do well to start from the beginning?

[ But the beginning is boring, not really, just not sometihng he cares about at the moment a large portion of the middle is rather unpleasant (that part, at least, is true) and otherwise he's still a bit scattered because Goldberry.

It takes him a few moments, but Merry sorts himself out. ]

Well, Pip and I were triyng to get away from this... conflict, sort of, and we stumbled into Fangorn, since of our options it seemed the safest, because orcs, you see, well, at that point it was more horse-riders who were actually the Rohirrim, nevermind. We'd settled down, and were rather beginning to like the place, actually that was before but anyways and then Treebeard pops up and he starts speakin', and if course Pip and I had never heard of Ents before and–

[ Okay, so maybe he isn't quite sorted, but near enough. Merry stops and swallows. ]

He's doing well, last I heard from him, though he misses Fimbrethil.

[ Much better. ]

[It's a story that stumbles and weaves upon itself like the ripples upon the still surface of water, or perhaps the currents running deep beneath her river -- still, Goldberry is attentive and pieces it together. Orcs were chasing her dear hobbits, Rohirrim riders were involved, and then they ran into Ents of all things and!]

You have certainly had yourselves an adventure, it seems! [Not all good, she can tell, though Merry himself seems mostly well and good. Still, her smile edges softer at the mention of Fimbrethil.] Aye, as he would. He took care of you yet, it seems, if you are here speaking to me and not still there or worse.
