[It's really quite impressive how elusive Artemis can be. She is hidden behind a tree trunk, digging her nails into the bark.]

What language must I speak for you to understand? I care nothing for a new home. My home is amongst the trees in the forest and amongst the wild beasts. No man shall confine me within your so-called "civilization".

Now here is a face I didn't expect to see. How do you fare, Hercules?

Well enough, well enough; my own mundane keeps me bumbling about in this place, though given some of the other alternatives I can scarce say I mind. Besides, with all the heroes and monsters that come through, I've grown quite fond of these environs! They've even had alternate versions of us wandering about at times; it's quite odd to see a Hera that isn't out for my blood.

I cannot say she is fond of me either. [That whole awkward cheating husband thing.] Perhaps I will find a realm in this land that suits me. Thus far, I have not been amused.

[She lifts her golden bow and holds it at her side.]

What is there to hunt?

[Le sigh.] She can be something of a testy dame, it's true; it's just good that you and your favourite brother have each other. Mayhap there might be an Apollo to find, in one of these places.

As for hunting, I can't say you'll find many simple beasts to chase down; a few monsters may come past every so often, but you'll rarely see a hind. I think the last deer I saw was over a month ago- but perhaps you'd rather switch to more difficult prey?

[At the mention of Apollo, she turns slightly.]

I can sense that he has been here, but I do not know where he is currently.

[Yet another reason why she isn't fond of this place. She used to be able to tell where he was at any given time of the day or night.]

Such as? [She arches a brow. Is he giving her a challenge?]

[jeebies]

[ Has bow and arrow. ]

Tonight's choice of game is Art. [ Notches bow with arrow. ] How do you like to be served, Artie? Pink in the middle? Well done? [ Sneaky sneaky playfulness. ]

[Artemis draws her own golden bow and nocks an arrow into the string.]

I prefer to catch my own meal. [Being served isn't as fun as killing the food for herself.]

[jeebies]

[ Hebe huffs. ]

C'mon and have some fun, Art. Indulge me!

What are you going to target? [Alright, don't give her that face.]

[jeebies]

Trees! Bushes! Yeesh, Art! Show some creativity. [ She's just as loud as when she was little. Actually. Even louder. ]

[lunarglow]

[Oh boy. What follows is a slightly chilled smile.]

Our creativity simply doesn't match. Why are you wasting my time anyway?

[jeebies]

[ Hebe makes a frustrated sound. ]

Y'know what. Forget it. I just wanted to play with my sister. It's been so long that I've forgotten you suck at playing with kids. You only ever murder them or take 'em from altars.

[lunarglow]

[Artemis suppresses a sigh and shakes her head.]

I would like to get my bearings before I play. [Not that she expects that will happen anytime soon.] Do you have a home here?

You rang, sister dear?

So you are here. I can trust my senses, at least.

[bringsthelight]

Had you been doubting them?

Everything is foreign.

Been up in the trees a while, haven't we?

You know where I prefer to be. It is you who delights in the company of gods and mortals.

[He snorted.]

Hardly. I moved out of Olympus...an eon or so ago, love. All that incessant brangling kept wearing on my nerves, so I relocated. Quaint little place out in the Aegean. I can work, it's quiet, and no one bothers me without an invitation.

[Well, that last wasn't exactly true, but close enough.]

The rest of the idiots can have that blasted mountain, I haven't been back...since the last Yule party before Rome fell, come to think of it.

Now, why don't you come over here and give your little brother a hug, hm? I've missed you, Artie.

[lunarglow]

[He is the only one that can make her soften. Her cheeks pink and she tilts her head, watching him curiously and quietly.]

As long as you are content, I care not where you call home. [She will follow him and find him wherever he goes. Distance is a meaningless concept to her when it comes to Apollo.]

I have not visited Mount Olympus in some time. [Her choice of home is usually a dense forest where she can enjoy the wildness of it all.]

I thought you would never ask. [A smile brightens her features and she hurries forward, giving him a warm hug.] I want to know about the life you have led here, brother.

[Apollo hugged her back, even stealing a quick kiss from her pale cheek. She was family, after all. And he did love her so.]

Well, the locals take care of me, I keep their waters stocked with all the good stuff--Uncle Poseidon and I have this "arrangement" going, so it all works out. My house is on the promissory overlooking the bay; Ezzie and I spend most of our time there.

[He squeezed her about the shoulders, snitching another brotherly kiss in her hair.]

You really should come visit for a month or so. You'd just adore Ezmerelda, and she'd love to have a more enthusiastic playmate.

[lunarglow]

[Her pale eyebrows rise in unison and she frowns faintly.]

It seems I've missed too much! [But she's not one to sulk or pout.] Who is Ezmerelda?

[A lover, a pet, a child? Artemis really doesn't keep track of such happenings. Unless Apollo is upset, she makes no move to intrude on his life or his time.]

I would like to meet her if she's special to you. [She closes her eyes and gives him a chaste kiss on the cheek in return.]

Ezmerelda is my dragon. Her egg washed up on the beach a couple of years ago, and out of it she hatched. [He grinned, calling to mind the half-grown dragonling, seeing her pouncing clams all over the beach in his mind's eye.]

She's quite a handful and loves to play. She's absolute misery on a soccer ball, at that.

[An affectionate grin follows his explanation.]

I always imagined you with an exotic pet. I'm sure you can use your time with her wisely and teach her much.

I wasn't in the market for one, actually. But she's better off with me than trying to survive in the mortal world, Titans know.
