Hey, it's been a while, huh? I don't think you've read my comic in months, even!

But all that other stuff you've been doing? Totally related to me.

I mean, you saw his movie and since I am maybe sorta slightly based on him, you had to be thinking about me. Me and him as a kid are sorta similar, but... he has parents, y'know. And he took like- what, 20 something years to become a hero? I've been doing this since I was 10! 

Oh, uh, right, there's that other kid you like! The one who's based off me! Holy moly, was that cool to hear! I gotta point out some things to that creator guy, though. Like I'm not the wizard, I'm not- you know. And if I said, "Shezam," nothing would happen cause my powers come directly from you-know-who. I guess I could become a female superhero like Mary if I really wanted to, but that'd take a whole lot of thinking. I've only ever tried to change Cap's clothes or small facial features, I mean. But anyways, back on that other superhero. He's cool, I'll give him that. But I think I'll take flying over laser lipstick any day.

Okay, so now we covered all that, you want to let me out somewhere already? It's been a whole year since you seriously played me! I'll take any place by now, so long as it needs me. There's gotta be somewhere that needs Captain Marvel, right?

[ He knows he was chosen for a reason, but sometimes it just seems easier and better to be an adult and a superhero, than to be an occasionally homeless kid.

He gives her a toothy grin, getting away from the more serious thoughts and back to the jokes and fun times. ]

Plus, what would Fawcett City do without such an amazing reporter, right?

[She reiterates those thoughts. And willingly provides him a place to sleep and food on a daily basis -- well she did. In the past. Back when he was in the City with her. She misses him and family bowling night. :(

[ A small laugh escapes his lips. She's taking this way too seriously, in his opinion. Better set things straight. He really doesn't want someone as pretty as her worrying this much, especially if it's his fault she's worrying. ] Don't worry, I'm not gonna go all dark on you or anything. I was mostly joking. See, it's like I know there's lots of bad and worrying things in my life, but I don't let it bother me. I know it's bad and I'm aware of it, but there's a lot of stuff to be happy about too.

For the most part, I've gotten used to it all by now. But even so, there are still times where I worry if you know I'm the right man or-well, kid- for the job. And I sorta have a big fat reminder of what could happen if I'm not.

But. I know I am. And I know there are a ton of things Billy Batson can do that Cap can't. It's also... [ He looks away and scratches the bridge of his nose. His face becomes ever so slightly red as he speaks. ] Both the wizard and my mun don't want me getting that big of a head. And my mun was laughing at my boasting in one issue.

[ Realizing he's been talking a whole lot, he lets out an over-dramatic sigh of relief. ]

Phew! That's over with. Sorry, I was starting to get into a kind of monologue mode or something. I just didn't want you to worry that much 'bout me.

[She listens to everything he has to say very carefully. Though there had been issues with Mary "going dark" it had never once occurred to her that the same would happen with him (then again, it hadn't occurred to her with Mary, either, but whatever!).]

Sounds like you've been thinking about this a lot, huh? It's only natural to want to get it all out at some point or another; no need to apologize it. I'd rather have someone rant than fall in line and avoid any real emotion, wouldn't you? [Beside that, the fact he worries about it from time-to-time is part of why he was chosen, part of what makes Billy Batson Billy Batson. Ugh, she could pinch his cheeks if that sort of thing weren't weird and not at all cute or affectionate. So maybe something more along the lines of a hug.]

Anyway, I listened. I'll try not to bring it up again. Sometimes you just seem like you could use a bit of an ego boost.

Well, it's a lot to put on a twelve year old kid, y'know? But I'm alright.

[ He shrugs. ]

Maybe, but I'm gonna try and keep all humble pie and stuff until my mun forgets about this happening.

Oh, I agree. Tim was only a little older than you when he was told he had the potential to be the greatest magician to ever live. You can't... you can't really do much to protect someone in that predicament.

Every now and then you gotta have a bit of an ego. Just every now and then. [Or a little more frequently if you're her. (I love that comic. Even if the latter half had much better art. :'|)] So, got any plans yet?

I.. I don't who that is, but I'm sure that must've been real tough on him. But I'm pretty sure all the good of those types of situations outweighs the bad. And that's what I focus on.

Yeah, [ He laughs again ] and I do. I'm glad you're looking out for me, though. It's really nice of you.

[ The question causes him to stop and pause. He bites his lip as he thinks, trying to remember what he's been told. ]

I thiiiink we're looking at rekindleme and tushanshu. Mun says she's got some friends over at the second place that'd love to see us. But, she's also been considering sending that other guy, SheZow, over there instead. Or we just might not do anything. Are you up to anything fun yourself?

Ah, right. Of course you don't. Either way, he's a kid I know and I do agree with that. He chose to walk a path of magic despite all of that.

[She tips her top hat a little, almost shyly.] Someone has to.

[There are so many options, it' not like she doesn't expect him to have to pause to mull it over! Too many places, too little time!]

Like I said, I think anywhere would be benefit from your presence. The first one's the hug place, huh? [She doesn't say that it suits him because that is kind of embarrassing to say to a growing young man!] I'm over at capeandcowl and cape_kore -- I think the gal over here might have a thing for capes, though one is a location and the other is a thing. You were staying with me at the former for a while, but that was... quite some time ago.

I sure hope so. It'd be kinda bad if a superhero ended up making a place worse, I think! And yeah, that's the place!

[ At her cape comment, he laughs a little. ] Seems so! Apparently one of her friends used to be at the first one, but not anymore. [ Although he knows it isn't his fault and barely had anything to do with it, he feels bad somehow. When he speaks, his eyes are fixated on his feet. ] I... I'm sorry the other me had to leave you, though I'm sure he feels bad about it! And I'm sorry if you're lonely because of it!

So long as you think that way, I don't think it would happen. What's important is you're self-conscious. At least in my opinion.

[She's been doing the superhero thing long enough, after all. She must have some idea of what she's talking about!] Mm, well, it's a big place! You never know who you'll find there. [And this is when the awkward mentor shoulder touching thing happens. It really isn't all that bad, not really.] You're pretty perceptive. The house was pretty full back then -- you, me, the Flash, Wonder Woman, and Larsa. [Not that the last one is a name she expects him to know. But it was a busy house, that's what she's getting at!]

You sure talk about other people a lot for someone who could probably go toe-to-toe with Big Blue. Where's your sense of self-importance? I thought that was, like, the staple thing for all heroes.

I'm trying not to get too much of a sense of self-importance. The last time that happened I sorta lost my powers... So, working on just the right amount. [ Having an old guy with old values in control of your powers can suck sometimes. ]

I just wish my mun would hurry up and get on it already. But apparently we have to wait and make sure we have the time for a game. [He rolls his eyes. Waiting is evidently the worst thing ever for him.] I'm getting moded just thinking about it.

Well... You're off with the League most of the time, but I've seen you around enough times to know you prefer hanging with our team. Which is right. Because we're, like, at least fifty times cooler.

Psh. Tell me about it. Mine insists she likes doing wider reading but when it comes to anything I've been in, she keeps stalling! Talk about lame. How're we gonna make crazy fourth-wall references if she doesn't read about the other mes?

[Any opportunity to big up the Team is an opportunity he'll take.] Are you kidding? We're so crash, we make the Justice League look like a bunch of relics. Which they are, if you're me. I know the founders were originally sidekicks who wanted to hit it big on their own. Now, it's more like a mini Justice League - if you're underage and can't join up with the big guys, the Team's the way to go.

Of course, you joined up with the JL before the Team was formed, so... I guess you're with them officially. But that doesn't mean we can't hang. [speaking of hanging, he zips to your side and slings an arm around your shoulders. apparently you are best buds now. run while you still can]

Mine's been doing that too. I don't really get it, but if it makes her happy I guess I can live with waiting. [ He shrugs. ]

So... it's like Justice League, but with kids? That sounds amazing! Hey, is there a Freddy on your team? [ Totally didn't realize that he should probably be on the Team instead. Nope. He's not the Junior of the Marvel Family, after all.

Either way, I don't think I'd be on your team. N-No offense! It'd be lots of fun, I'm sure, but... if Captain Marvel was grouped in with the younger heroes, it'd seem off. It might even give away who I am.

[ He kindly reciprocates the best buddification and gives the other a huge grin. Being stuck in the same place as him wouldn't be so bad. ]
