And if you do, I gotta say: I understand that it's damn impossible to find little pictures like these for me, but don't you have people who can make them? Can't you make them yourself if you really want to?

Look down. Do you still have your toes? Look up. There, you're fine. Stop worrying so much and just look around.

And don't do that thing where you look and peer and think, "oh hey! This one! This one!" and then, what? Recoil? Are you blind? If there can be Rumpelstiltskin-s, and Snow Whites, Cinderellas, Beautys, trolls, and dragons, there's sure as hell gotta be a place for a talking donkey.

[Belle curtsies to him, still laughing.]

[Unfortunately, there is no Belle in Far, Far Away. Rapunzel, Cinderella, tired ol' Sleeping Beauty, Thumbelina...but no Belle. BUT! There's a Rumpel, and his goose, Fifi, and they're both evil.]

Belle. Belle. I like that name! [And boulders. Boulders really make or break a swamp, you know. He's full of good info!] It's short, it's sweet, and it's catchy.

Wow! Donkey's the only name I have, too! We're gonna be totally great friends, I can already tell.

At the mention of parents, Donkey's ears twitch slightly, almost like they were about to droop. Ultimately, though, they stay in place.]

I...don't know about my parents? I didn't always talk, I'm pretty sure. I doubt I would have gone so long without trying to be sold for a shiny penny if I had been talking since I was born.

[Belle looks saddened by that. She tentatively reaches out to stroke over his head.]

That sounds kind of lonely. Who tried to sell you?

[Donkey may not be as excited at petting as most, but he doesn't mind one from time to time.]

Oh, every farmer who could get me! Sold for magic beans or for money as being a "fairytale creature"...you name it, someone's probably tried to barter it for me.

[She isn't sure how else to comfort him.]

None of them loved you? [Wow, this is bringing back memories.] I think... I know how you feel. Or...felt.

[He doesn't need comforting though! He's totally fine.

She'll know when he needs it. He's very vocal about his feelings (and everything else).]
