Well, the God of Earth was a Namekian who came to Earth about 300 years ago and purged the evil from his heart in the form of Piccolo Daimaou in order to be qualified for the position. Although eventually the son of Piccolo remerged with him and we had to get Dende as a replacement.

And there's King Kai who rules the galaxy, he's small and blue and likes telling weird jokes... And the Grand Kai who works above King Kai is some weird old guy who dresses like a rock star...
