What do you mean I can't have a wolf or two? Not as if I would encourage them to shift and stay that way. Minions are a part of my entire history, not to mention wolves. Why would adopting a werewolf or two be wrong?

Would you stop calling it abuse? If they behave, then there's no abuse.

It isn't a horrible thing! In exchange for room and board and protection, said minions would complete tasks. Kind of like being employed, without the money, and with a bit of a desperation to please... well, in this case, me.

Werewolf? Why ever would you desire a werewolf? Is this something most children of the future contemplate?

You'd be surprised the number of people out there that want a life where they're pampered, cared for and have someone looking out for their best interest. That I chose to look for those with extra abilities and skills doesn't change that there are those that seek that kind of life.

Yes, yes they do. Well, some of them do. Some are on their own. Others have lost their packs. Then there's the ones that want out, who want a better life.

At least with a werewolf when they have a desire for blood because of the connection it won't be fat little bugs?

Why not seek someone natural strong with a nature for servitude?

Yes, that works so wonderfully for their pack leaders. Until they turn on them and kill them. There's nothing sweet in being slaughtered by your underlings.

Awwww. We're all creatures in one way or another. Besides, if you want to defend yourself against the world, shouldn't you chose the best?

Yeah, not much on the whole royalty thing anymore. Modern world, modern issues, modern way of handling things. Look how much the monarchy of England is so often mocked. I'd rather forgo that sort of world and create an empire of my own.

What I'm trying to say is that people, whatever kind of people they are, can't get along. They can't. Look at the wars. Look at what they do to one another. Why pretend that it's all sweetness and light when obviously the nature of mankind is not of peace. I don't believe it can happen. Not with the world I see.

What I should do is what I must to survive, to have the life I chose. I've spent enough years trying to be what others wanted. No longer.

I wouldn't say below me exactly. They're pack animals. They seek to be part of a group, to be lead by one. That isn't beneath me, I just seek to be that one. Why follow an alpha who is trapped by the same curse when one could follow someone that can guide with an iron fist and a velvet hand?

That is a misnomer though. About protection. We all have moments when we're weaker than others, times when we're stronger. For a wolf their beholden to the moon. Others have similar maladies they have to answer to.

I'm less worried about the alphas than the same hunters likely you mistook me for.
