[Angel and Faith spoilers]
My icons can stay exactly where they are, thank you.
That...mistake is not something you need to emulate.
I don't care if you have them waiting in the wings. I don't care if you think they're appropriate. If you really mean to bring me back into any games like that, you can bloody well make a new journal for it!
The fact that they went through with this insanity is bad enough. The fact that this was the result is only insult added to injury.

Perhaps it just, um, comes with age.

[Oh, Faith. Giles loves her, but this is just as much her fault as Angel's. She should have stopped him.]

And he comes out swingin'.
[ she lamely shrugs a shoulder and takes a moment to think of something to say, however, she can't seem to think of a suitable answer, so she just shrugs again before firmly fixing her eyes on the ground beneath her feet. ]
What do you want me to say, G?

[He doesn't like the idea of being twelve again. He was always tall, for a twelve year old boy, but he wasn't strong enough to lift, let alone use, half the weapons he's gotten used to. It was a dangerous world when he died as an old man, and he's come back into it as a child.
And not fighting is unthinkable.]

[It could have gone so much worse. Without his aunts, it probably would have been a disaster for all of them.
If they had to do this, it could have gone so much worse. Compared to that, being back...isn't as bad as he thought. But that doesn't make it okay that they did this.]

[ she should be, but she isn't. ]

[She should be. But she isn't, and...well, there's probably no changing that.]
I wouldn't ask you to lie to me. [That's his job.]
I suppose the prospect of figuring out how to proceed from here is...well, more than a little intimidating.

[ honestly, faith isn't entirely sure about how to deal with giles' return to the world of the living. part of her wants things to go back to the way they were before he died, but that would mean ditching angel and she's not ready for that. ]

It would be nice to see how everyone else is getting on in this new, collapsing, magic-less world. But paying a visit to Buffy would raise too many questions, and probably open up too many wounds.
He hopes she's moved on, and he's not sure he wants to disturb that. He didn't have a choice, where Faith was concerned.]
I suppose I'll, um, handle the problem that's in front of me. At the moment? That would be Pearl and Nash.
[He wants to stay with Faith. If things can't go back to the way they were before he died, well...at least he's reached some kind of peace with Angel.]

I couldn't find anything on Whistler, however.
[Giles got to feel it when Whistler punched Angel's stomach out. It's made him more than a little wary.]

[ she purses her lips, thoughtful. ]
I mean, how tough can this guy be?
[ on the outside whistler doesn't look like much and since angel decided not to tell her about his encounter with his demon-slash-higher-being-hybrid buddy she has no idea what he's capable of. ]

The likes of which probably could have given us all a fight on his own, back in Sunnydale.
[It hurts to admit, but it would be even worse for her to go in even more blind than she already is.]
Someone of his particular bloodline couldn't be anything else.

Besides, um...I would say you've still faced worse.
[They survived a war in Tibet, and were almost as badly outgunned. Maybe if he and Alasdair can jury rig some magic...well, they might have a chance.
They certainly don't have a choice.]
no subject
Trust me, we're gonna be fine.
[ she hopes so, anyway. ]
So, uh, do you think Alasdair and Angel will find a way to make you a regular size dude again, or...?

[Angel gets a pass, but Giles still never wants to be on the other end of the vampire's attempts to work magic again.]
Even if he did, however, I doubt it would be permanent. Especially with the state of the world as it is. Much as it pains me to admit it, my natural form now is that of a twelve year old boy. Modifying that would count as transmutation, and transmuting a human on that scale is only slightly less difficult than resurrecting the dead. It's the sort of thing very old fairy tales are made of.

Of course, letting Whistler, Pearl, and Nash unleash their plague of magic would also restore magic to the world.

So I wouldn't count on restoring magic being a positive outcome for anyone, however it happens.

Man, our lives suck.
