I certainly could be wrong about exactly which three, but I'd say that it's most likely that you met Jun, Tatsuya, and Eikichi, correct? Of all of our friends, I'd say they'd be the most likely to be vocal and angry about rumors, though certainly Lisa could be a prime suspect as well.

I arrived in Hinoto-Ri shortly after everyone came back from fighting Nyarlathotep; I'm really sorry you had to deal with that. I know at least Eikichi was horribly shaken up by the whole thing...

Sadly, even fighting rumors with rumors tends to only worsen the situation. You can't really know how things'll turn out, especially when the governing power is one that leans towards chaos. Even worse, it's human nature to want to take advantages of these sorts of things, even if you think you know better than to mess with it.
