Drama Drama Duck?

[ A strange look appears on Sawako's face. Her eyes are narrowed and she's staring up. Perhaps it looks like she's observing something the realms of regular human eyes cannot see... Maybe there's some kind of ghost around.

Really, she's just trying to figure out why that sounds like really cute, fuzzy ducklings are acting out Shakespeare. It's so cute..

But, would she really do well in a game like that? ]

Mun, you said a lot of different types of people without many friends have been ending up there lately?

[ It might sound like she's making a comment on the mass numbers of friendless losers there, but really she's just.. excited. If people like that have been able to make friends, then maybe.. Maybe she could too. Maybe she could fit in and sit next to someone and be able to see them happy because she said hello to them. She knew what it was like to be lonely, so if she could say "Hello" and they could just say it back...

Of course, her expression right now doesn't really reflect this sentiment. ]

[Lilith, thankfully, has all her limbs in one piece. She's not even noticing the slightly off-putting expression.]

I wonder if there's any real ducks there.

[ S-Someone responded! Certainly, Sawako is excited about getting a response at all. It takes her a few moments to gather herself even after that though, so there's a multisecond gap before Sawako responds to Lilith. ]

Th-That would be great!

[ There's a significant amount of enthusiasm in her voice, it's almost forceful despite being quiet and a little nervous. Ducks... She'd love to meet a duck in a game, though it probably wouldn't really like her. Most animals didn't, after all. ]

[ Another person replied! Is this what it's like to be popular? Sawako isn't quite sure what to say about the ducks though. She doesn't really know. ]

I don't know if there really are any or not. I'm sorry.

A shame, I know a good duck stew recipe. [Who says rabbits can't be omnivores?]

[She's just glad someone is there to talk to. Her brother doesn't have many visitors and Lilith doesn't often go out to the village. Sebastian is a kind man but there's not many chances for her to talk to other girls.]

I'd like that a lot! A pet bird would be nice, a duck wouldn't be my first choice but I've heard they're very resourceful. I wonder if Nii-sama would let me keep one.

[ This person is so pretty and she seems kind. If she's got a brother, he's probably the kind of brother who takes care of her very well too. They must be very happy. Sawako finds herself wondering what it would be like to have a sibling. ]

[ She wants to know this girl's name before she loses herself in theconversation and it becomes too awkward to ask. Of course, she immediately regrets it because it probably seemed like Sawako was ignoring what she said, so Sawako looks down after that. ]

[ It sounds like it'd be good and all, but she wouldn't want to do it from the duck actually being alive.. she'd never be able to kill it. Those cute little beady eyes.. Ahh, she couldnt do it! No way, no way!

More importantly, she really wants to ask about the rabbit ears... but that would be rude wouldn't it? You can't just ask people why they have rabbit ears. So mostly it just looks like Sawako is glaring this person down. ]

[Lilith does pause for a moment. Ah...did she forget to introduce herself? Most people in the village know of her and her brother so it's not often that she has to do so. She smiles.]

I'm Lilith Zaberisk. My brother, Georik, is a doctor.

[Datura nods. Duck stew. When you are one of the few Sentinels based on an herbivore surrounded by lions and wolves for brethren, one develops a taste for meat themselves.

She really wouldn't mind explaining her ears. Her kind has been more or less unknown to humans up until recently anyway, so it's a common reaction. Plus, that face doesn't strike her as scary at all.]

I'm... Kuronuma! Sawako Kuronuma! It's nice to meet you!

[ She seems pretty enthusiastic, introducing herself like that. Even if, just a little, it sounds like she's trying to force the words out so that her voice reaches loudly enough. She's glad that Lilith seems to be easy to talk to at least, and she doesn't seem scared of her at all. ]

Would a duck be okay for a doctor to live with..?

[ It's a real question, okay? Back on topic. ]

[ Sawako's glaring turns back to a hint of confusion. She didn't think that she was doing anything poorly, but.. maybe there was some kind of misunderstanding. She didn't mean to give the impression that there was something wrong, after all...

She didn't want to worry her. ]

[ Maybe there was something that Datura saw that she didn't? ]

You seemed upset about something. [What with the glaring and all.]

I-I wasn't upset, that's just my face!

[ She catches on pretty quickly.. a lot of times she has expressions like that on after all. ]

Ah- My apologies for misinterpreting. [The woman gives an apologetic bow, a bit embarrassed.]

[ Sawako gives one right back. ]

N-No, it's my fault, I should have been clearer...

[ She stays down for a moment, looking back up nervously at the question before finally standing up straight, pressing her fingers together. ]

I-I do like it.

[She seems kind of shy. Even a thirteen year old can tell that... She puts a finger to her cheek in thought.]

If I asked Nii-sama, I'm sure she'd let me keep one. [She laughs afterwards.] We have a big house.

Sawako looks positively inspired by this idea. She's practically sparkling at getting to meet someone this amazing. ]

What is it?

Sawako has come to the realization that she's finally done it. No longer will she disappoint her classmates who believe that she has a 6th spiritual sense, she's really looking at what must unmistakably be some kind of spirit. If she tells everyone excitedly, she'll be able to fill those shoes that they've built for her and she might be able to get more people to talk to her just because she really can do something amazing like that.

Still, the thing was calling her weird so she wasn't quite sure what to do. ]

[ Her voice is quiet, but it's best to ask, isn't it? Before things get misunderstood. ]

She smiles. This person seems to be warming up a little, at least.]

Nii-sama's sure to agree with me! [Pause.] What about you? Do you want a duck, too?

[ Sawako looks down for a moment, pondering. Should she say it? Ah. ]

A puppy. They don't like me though.

[The weird thing is a little annoyed, because clearly she was being OBVIOUS and that any person with HALF A BRAIN would know the topic of discussion here.]

I have grown used to a certain level of eccentricity when dealing with your species, however, you possess an energy that is vaguely reminiscent of my people. Subdued, of course, as our existence is often considered an affront to the laws of nature, and yet definitely, unmistakably, perverse.

It's little wonder you find yourself pining for socialization. I myself find communicating with those of your kind difficult enough. Though with your level of deviancy, I would suspect the statistical number of individuals that would be able to withstand your disruptive state of abnormal would also be unbelievably low.

[She sounds rather excited by that idea. Oh, puppies are so cute... Nothing's more loyal than a dog! St. Germant probably would love having a dog, too, once they were married... But Georik probably wouldn't like that. "You'll just tire yourself out, Lilith," he'd say. Then she pauses.]

[ On occasion, Sawako's brain doesn't work the same way most peoples' do.

As she reads through the response a few times, Sawako considers it. The phrasing is definitely odd, so it takes her a moment, but she thinks she understands what she's saying. After all, it's not an uncommon response to her.. well, facial expressions and what she says.

There's a reason she gets called "Sadako" more than her actual name. ]

I-I know I seem like this, but I didn't crawl out of a well... I don't really have psychic powers either.

[ A beat. Her tone changes a bit from that shy voice, attempting to explain, as though she's come to a decision. ]

Well, maybe I do if I can see you.

[ More importantly though.. ]

So even though I look like this, it-- it's a misunderstanding. I'm not angry or trying to curse you.
