[Yukina is very quiet for a few long moments. She seems to be thinking things over, and soon enough she smiles.]

I'll make the best of it. It will be... nice, to see more of the world. Though I don't quite understand why you keep saying Kazuma will be jealous... unless it's because you think he'd like to see the place for himself?

[She giggles.] I'm sure if he were to appear there, many people would be very happy! After all, he's very good at helping people, and it sounds as if the people of this city could use as much help as they can get.

[Shizuru laughs, casually pulling a cigarette out of her coat pocket and bringing it to her lips.]

In the event that he does decide to make an entrance, for his sake, I'm glad you'll be there to look after him.

[Yukina brightens immediately upon seeing her friend.] I think maybe Kazuma gets into trouble so much because he's so busy worrying about others that he doesn't realize when he needs help. It's an admirable trait... if a little worrying sometimes.

I'm glad, too. I'd hate to think of him stuck in a strange place without anyone he knows. Oh, but I'm sure he'd make friends very quickly!

Admirable, sure. [She murmurs this between clenched teeth as she runs a hand through her hair. But also stupid. Numbingly stupid. Of course, liking Yukina, she makes the decision not to say such out loud.

Instead, she shrugs. Shizuru doesn't need to say that she worries about her brother for Yukina to know it's a fact.]

For now, just focus on looking after yourself. Kazuma might not show up at all. [Or anyone for that matter.]

[And if she's being honest, the thought of being on her own again is daunting. Still, she's not one to back down so easily.]

But the other people who will be going there seem to be very kind. I'm excited for the chance to meet them! Do you think you'll be going anywhere around here, someday?

[Shizuru sighs, putting her free hand in her pocket and shifting her weight casually onto one leg.] Maybe someday; we'll have to play it by ear. This Mun of mine is most likely to throw me in somewhere she if sees some of you kids hanging around.

[Like Shizuru actually wants to be a babysitter or some shit.]

Well, it would be very good to get to go to one of these places with you! I hope that some of us go to this... "cuddling" place... I'd like seeing you there!

[Someone had to be the adult. It just so happened that it was usually Shizuru, even when most of the demons she hung around were like a hundred times older than she was.]

[Shizuru laughs. It's a dry, husky sort of thing--but it's still genuine. And it's one of the more warm-sounding things that the brunette is capable of emitting.]

I don't really do cuddling...but yeah. We'll see. It could happen.

Well... they said any kind of contact works, I believe. So if Kazuma ever showed up, the thing you do where you put your hand on his head would count!

[Ha! Yeah. Helpful; it was easy to be helpful when most of the people Yukina knew consisted of her punkass kid brother and his friends.]

Well I'm not a spazz, anyway. But I'm also no detective.

[That was Yusuke's shtick. And despite the fact that he was a spazz, he seemed to be doing a...moderately good job. Shizuru takes a long drag from her cigarette and blows it out of the way, so the smoke won't bother her friend.]

I'm sure it'll be fine, with or without me, as long as you don't get too curious.

[Dead cats, and all that. Though, Shizuru didn't peg Yukina as the "irresponsibly curious" type.]

Oh, yes... I'm sure that some people will try to get into the parts of town that are closed off...

[Yukina wouldn't be one of them, most likely; but from the troubled look on her face she's clearly concerned about what might happen to whoever it is that tries it. She knows enough of humans and demons to know that something being off-limits is very often the biggest incentive for people trying to go there anyway.]

I'll admit that I'm curious about what else is there, but... I can wait until it's open. So it should be okay... I think.
