[ Dry. ] Yeah, well, thanks. But you know what I mean.

At the very least, my mun is happy to see you around.

That's new. I'm not even sure mine likes me, judging by the usual clientele.

How's yours been treating you?

She's been keeping me busy. I've met a lot of interesting people.

[gregson]

New York interesting, or secret global crime syndicate interesting?

[formersurgeon]

Both. Plus, interestingly enough, another detective named Sherlock Holmes. As if the one wasn't enough for every universe ever.

[gregson]

Two.

[ One simple word that contains so much. Various flavors of trepidation, for the most part. He inhales deeply, then rallies and overcomes it. ]

You get on with him too?

Fairly. He's very different from our Sherlock, and believe it or not, can be an even bigger arrogant pain in the ass. But he also has one of me. Or at least a male counterpart. Dr. John Watson. It's weird.

[gregson]

Huh. That's unexpected. The John Watson part, I mean, not the even more arrogant part.

[ Enjoy that, Sherlock. Gregson shrugs after a moment's more thought, as he supposes it doesn't make much difference to what he assumes is the same kind of friendship between him and Watson. ]

Did they meet?

They've talked. I don't think they like each other.

[gregson]

... Hah. Yeah, I could see that happening.

John is nice, though. I like him a lot.
