Hey. It's been... Actually, I really don't want to think how long it's been, and honestly, I don't really like that your attention is on me again. I have enough problems with gods and giants without worrying about you, too. [Piper says this calmly, a small smile on her face.]

Besides, you still have two more books to read again for this review. Maybe wait until then.

What is it with these people and jumping in face first? You'd think they'd enjoy the chance to stop and smell the roses or something.

[charmspeaks]

I kind of get it, really. [Demigods are exactly the same way, lbr.] Rushing in is kind of a hazard, but sometimes you just need to wing these things. [A beat.] Except when you're playing with someone else's life.

[traitorously]

I think that's exactly when they have most of their fun. They must find their own lives pretty unsatisfying if this is how they get their fun.

[charmspeaks]

I think it's just because they can't manipulate people in the same way in their real lives. Only the gods have this kind of power, and even they know when to back off every now and then.

[sophos]

I think the problems they like to give us are a little more welcome than wars and giants. Sometimes.

[charmspeaks]

Annabeth. [Yay, a familiar face.] I don't know. The last time she got it in her mind to pull me out somewhere, she tried to stick me in a place with zombies and no way of protecting myself.

[sophos]

Zombies for a week were enough. I can't imagine it being a constant.

[charmspeaks]

Yeah, it was a pretty nasty place. [She shrugs.] But she got distracted, so I didn't end up going.

[And then a smile.] How have you been doing?

[sophos]

I'll take that as a good thing?

[She rolls her shoulder in a shrug.] It could be worse, all things considered. [much worse.] I was stuck in a place alone for a while, but now Percy and Leo are there.

[charmspeaks]

Only if you think the idea of spending your life as a constant horror movie is a better alternative.

[She smiles. Yeah, Piper gets that. Totally.] I'm glad that you and Percy, you know. [Can be together.] Please tell me that Leo's behaving.

[sophos]

I don't. Good thing it is.

[She tries not to smile. But this is Piper, so it escapes anyway.] Yeah. Me, too. [And then she rolls her eyes at the Leo remark.] I can lie to you, if you want.

[ozones]

Of course, you'd be the best at handling them. _{( Muns in general, he means. This makes perfect sense. )}

[charmspeaks]

[Fffft, Jason.] I'm not really sure about that.

[ozones]

Well, at least you're talking it over instead of just complaining.

[charmspeaks]

I don't think that complaining really works with them. It seems like it has the opposite effect. [Like they get more satisfaction out of it, really.]

[ozones]

Yeah, but that didn't stop a lot _{( most )} of us.

[charmspeaks]

Yeah, but a lot of people haven't learned that a sweet word or two here and there works a lot better.

they really are. It's enough to give anyone a headache, really.

Acting as if we've all have nowhere else to be. Or, in some cases, pulling you out of where you would rather be.

Knowing there are places we need to be and also knowing that we have other things to do seems to be the best part to them.

If we're supposedly under their control, should we be happy or something?

I'm definitely not. Nothing about what they do is all that nice.
